A/N: My very first LOTR, uh, piece? Anyway, it kinda summarizes the defeats and victories in LOTR. This was mostly based on the movies.

Disclaimer: I do not own The One Ring or any part of LOTR. Nor do I own the "One Ring poem/phrase".

Sauron's will, power, and evil,

Poured into one band of gold.

A simple trinket,

Filled with evil and deceit.

One ring to rule them all,

It controls the nine and the seven.

But lacks the power,

To find the three.

One ring to find them all,

Sauron can see the seven.

The nine have already corrupted,

Twisting mortal kings.

One ring to bring them all,

Sauron has found what is left,

Of the dwarf-rings.

All he lacks are the three Elven rings.

In the darkness, bind them.

When all land is covered,

By shadows and smoke,

And all rings have been found,

The Dark Lord will be reborn,

Death shall come,

To all Free Peoples.

Forged in Mount Doom,

In the darkness of Mordor.

Naught but those flames,

Can undo the evil.

Brought on a quest,

To those very slopes.

The Ring can kill,

Without moving an inch.

Wounding of a hobbit,

Death of a steward.

Loss of friends,

Destruction in cities.

The One Ring's evil deeds.

Into the fires of Mount Doom,

A final push,

By the Last Free Alliance.

One last attempt,

To thwart its destruction.

A halfling's attempt,

To destroy a ring.

A twisted soul,

Whom thrives on the Ring.

Plummeting through flame and heat,

Grasped by Gollum.

Sinking slowly,

Through the molten rock,

From whence it came.

A successful last stand,

Freedom reigns,

With man's new king.

A light prevails,

Through a cloud of darkness.

Sauron's defeat,

A victory by men and hobbits.

Elves depart,

To a perfect world beyond.
