"Stanley!" Mimi yelled when she walked into the bedroom and found him trying to get up…again.
"Mimi, I'm fine. There's work to do. I need to find hunt and…"
"And Bonnie and I are handling everything we can for now. The hunting and anything else can wait until you're better."
I'm better—it's just a sprained ankle."
"No, it's a hair line fracture with a crappy little cast on it. April said if you walk on it you could cause permanent damage. Oh! And let's not forget the hypothermia and the fact that you're lucky you didn't catch pneumonia," her arms waves dramatically as she glares at him, "So you are staying in bed until April clears you."
"But Mimi," his voice was i thisclose /i to a whine, "I'm bored and lonely up here. Can't I just go sit outside for a while?"
Mimi shook her head in disbelief, "Stanley its like 14 degrees out there. We're trying to keep you in one piece, not get you killed. Just…" she stopped and took an exasperated breath as he looked prepared to argue again. She tried to figure something out and then suddenly it was like a light bulb went off over her head.
"Listen Stanley, I'll make you deal. You sleep for one hour. While I finish the chores," he opened his mouth to protest and she shushed him quickly, "One hour and then I'll keep you company for the rest of the night."
Stanley's eyebrows rose, "Company?"
"Company….in that black lingerie you like so much."
Stanley's eyes grew huge and his mouth practically watered, "Black," was all he said.
Smiling Mimi leaned over and kissed his check, "Now get some rest…you'll need it later."
Stanley's eyes were fixed to her retreated figure as she sashayed out of the room.
Well he might not sleep, but he sure as hell wasn't moving until she came back.
