Welcome to the very first chapter of a new fanfic. It came to my attention that the world largest piece of human literature is a Super Smash Brothers fanfiction clocking in at around 4.1 million words which doesn't update that frequently. So I decided why not write a 4.5 million word Sonic fanfic because who needs time anyways? This fic will not be nearly as composed as that one since that fanfic is honestly of pretty impressive quality but I decided against just crapping something out, I figured if I'm trying to write a 10,000 page fanfiction I might as well have fun doing it. I mean crapping something out is kinda in theme with this fandom but I'm putting some thought into it. I'm not a big sonic fan so I'll be using the lore I know and maybe studying more as I go along, I might just create my own.. Sorry if any grammar is inaccurate I'm doing minor spell and grammar checks but feel it's in place with other Sonic fics for it to be a bit to a lot messy. Join me on my journey to write a sonic fanfiction that will one day be the longest piece of human written literature. Hey, you got to have some sort of hobby.

Prologue:

Once upon a time long ago the universe began. There was rumbling, the first sound to ever be uttered and out of that rumbling came a voice. It boomed over the nothingness and it's in wake commanded it. "Let there be", the figure spread his call over the realm and in second the nothingness was no more. There were planets more vast and outstretched than the mind could possibly see. There were stars that burned bright and scattered across the sky. These planets and stars clashed and warred as the universe began to rumble to life and out of this battle came the first sparks to create life. Out of these sparks came the forgery of a new flattened yellow substance. It absorbed the sparks into a its atoms and the charge caused the substance to begin to cool. It began to harden until it's center was disrupted by fragments of an exploding planetary body. It finished hardening until it became the first thing in our universe to exit its liquid stage. The first solid thing in existence. A material made of some of the strongest forces in the universe. Antimatter, Sypheratomic, and the mysterious unexplainable Spark which gave it it's golden color. These 3 forces began to react off of each other until they shot out a ring of energy that spread across the world causing the planets to cool and hydrogen to be collected into a new force, Life that began to spread across the various planets. The original ring itself left the new essence of life but took the forces of the AntiMatter, Sypheratomic, and Spark with it into a new section of the universe. There it has been using the forces to build its own galaxy. One that has been unknown since it's creation but puts the entirety of the universe into a state of risk.

Sonic and The Galaxy Of Rings

Chapter 1- The Fall

Sonic the Hedgehog was busy being badass as he always is, taking on Doctor Robotnik and fighting the forces of evil. Sonic is a cool blue hedgehog with a serious attitude problem. He's too cool for school and so fast you might even say he's a blue blur. Sonic bounced around from obstacle to obstacle with little effort. "You're too slow", he said as the evil doctor tried to catch up. Sonic just kept running knowing full well that the doctor couldn't keep up with him with a spring he jumped several thousand feet into the air grabbing on to the doctor's airship. "Hah, you're good Sonic but I was prepared for that" Doctor Robotnik snapped as Sonic felt the entire airship beginning to rumble. "What's-What's going on" but before Sonic could finish his sentence he felt an even greater rumbling that knocked his hands off the airship and sent him falling. "Woah" Sonic yelled as he plummeted towards the earth. The rapid decension was causing the air to get knocked out of his lungs and he had trouble keeping his eyes open as he tried to focus on the airship. As he looked up he saw what had caused the great rumbling. The airships giant doors had opened and it's hundreds of animal passengers we're spilling out into the water below. "Oh no" Sonic yelled as he saw the animals hurtling to their deaths. As he continued to fall he could faintly hear Eggman's voice over the wind. "There is nothing you can do, Sonic you've got to find a way to save yourself before you can save them" Sonic chuckled as he heard this, He loved a good bet and as he neared the ground he realized it was now or never to make this work. He kicked his feet up into the air but couldn't get the momentum to flip himself. "Come on!" he shouted. He wa rapidly losing conscience. He tried again but couldn't do it. He didn't have the strength anymore to get spinning. "I can't give up" Sonic began to fade in and out as his body went limp and his eyes closed shut. As he neared the final few feet to the water Sonic heard the helpless creatures calling out for help. They were screaming in fear and they were calling his name. He couldn't let them down, literally! "Sonic!" they yelled, and as they did Sonic felt a wave of energy flow through him. "I can do this" Sonic gritted his teeth fighting the air as he kicked his feet up again and this time over his head. "Yes!" Sonic began to spin faster and faster as he reached the final feet above the water. He began a ball of blue as he reached mach speeds and used his own foot to kick off and land onto the water. He quickly recomposed his balance as his red shoe hit the surface of the water and then the next one and suddenly Sonic the hedgehog was back on his feet running on water against the airship. He tore up the water as he created a tidal wave behind him. A giant tsunami that grew and grew attempting to swallow him whole as Sonic tore up the water. He looked at the airship and saw that it was beginning to close its doors. He wasn't letting a single animal and he wasn't letting that thing get away. He continued to tear through the ocean as the tsunami grew as tall as a skyscraper and Sonic closed the gap between him and the airship. "Not so fast" Eggman yelled as he caught up to Sonic with his own ship. "You are not taking another step!" Eggman began to fire missiles at Sonic. Sonic began to swerve left and right as the missiles collided with the water. Sonic had a few near misses as he nearly lost his balance. Sonic looked at the tsunami now blocking out the sun. He looked at Eggman and realized he was fighting a losing battle. Eggman fired a missile straight at Sonic and the hedgehog was unable to avoid it. He thought quickly as he caught the missile in his hands and grabbed onto it. "Alright Eggman, Robotnik whatever you call yourself now a days. Let's go for a ride!" The missle began to fly into the air as Sonic held it under his arms in one hand as it propelled him forward and grabbed eggman's shirt in his other. "What!? "What are you doing?!" Eggman yelled as they flew higher and higher. "I'm killing two bird with one stone" Sonic looked above as he reached the airships doors. They were closing but he still had time. He was going to make it! Sonic then felt a rip as he saw below him Eggman's shirt was unable to hold his weight. "Ahhh!" The doctor began to yell him. "Hold on I" Sonic yelled trying to hold onto the missile and get a better grip of Eggman at the same time but it was no use and the doctor collar ripped apart leaving him to plummet into the water below. "No!" Sonic yelled as he had accidentally killed his greatest enemy. Sonic looked up and a new panic ran over his face as he entered into the closing doors. He quickly let go of the missle zooming away as it collided with the airship. The explosion shook the ship and blew Sonic back. He composed himself. His plan was falling apart and quite literally so was the airship. He quickly ran into the cockpit destroying the robotic pilots and taking the wheel. He still had time to deploy the ships giant net and capture the animals swooped away by the tsunami. Sonic hovered over the button as his eyes caught sight of an area being revealed as the clouds cleared away, an incredible populated city full of people and giant skyscrapers. He looked behind him and saw his sun blocking wave of water and animals and realized he had made a grave error. His eyes got bigger when he realized the airship was losing fuel rapidly. He was crashing and behind him were all the hundreds of helpless animals he had tried to save riding a wave of water and in front of him was a ginormous city which his tsunami was headed right for.
