Saw Iron Man, and was thoroughly impressed. The one scene that really moved me was the scene where Obadiah pulled the Arc Reactor out of Tony's chest and Tony really had to fight to make sure he didn't die. So I wanted to write something about it. Just what was going through his head.
Ba-dump.Tony could hear blood pounding in his ears.
Ba-dump.
He managed to slide off the couch and crawl across the floor. His knees banged the stairs multiple times, but he could hardly feel them.
Ba-dump.
It couldn't end this way. He had worked so hard on the suit. He wanted to help people, not die at the hands of the enemy.
Tony crawled through the doorway, absent of glass due to his experimentation the other day.
Ba-dump.She couldn't die. Even when she had threatened to quit, she had stayed by his side. She had helped him with practically everything while he had screwed away his life (literally, in some cases) and killed hundreds, maybe thousands of people.
And now she was in danger because of him.
Ba-dump.
It was on the shelf, Tony could see that much. His arms shook uncontrollably. He reached up with one arm and nearly collapsed. The simple task of holding himself up had drained him of almost all strength.
Damn you muscles! He mentally cursed. They had served him well in creating the most destructive weapons, but now they failed him in his time of need?
Ton's breathing grew shallow. The numbness was wearing off; it was his heart.
Ba-dump.
Tony tried one more time to grab the gift Pepper had given him. Proof that Tony Stark had a heart. At first he had been just pleased that she had given it as a gift to him. The inscribing had been the thing that had struck him.
Now he was more than pleased, he was grateful. But the reach! It was too far.
The stupid thing was no use to him up there, and he was almost out of time.
Ba-dump.
Tony fell forward onto his hands, and a whirring sound went off. He looked up and saw a machine holding out the glass box for him to take. Was that the one he had threatened to give to a city college? He couldn't tell.
"Thank you," he managed to whisper and the glass box fell into his hand. He leaned over and smashed the glass against the floor.
He wasn't going to give up now.
Ba-dump.
Yeah, that's it. Please review and/or constructively criticize. Flames will be used for repairing the Iron Man suit.
