Turned Down

A little oneshot I've been thinking of writing since I first read Twilight. Jessica asks Edward Cullen to the Spring Dance. I don't own Edward or any other characters.

A/N: Bella wonders in Twilight whether Jessica was ever turned down by Edward Cullen. This is how I think it happened.

Turned Down

Edward was so hot! Jessica could barely stand it. But he never talked to anyone. No one knew what he was like. Except for his adopted siblings, obviously.

The Spring Dance was the next week, and Jessica hadn't asked anyone yet. She was still getting up the courage to ask...someone.

Just before Science class, Jessica walked between the desks to Edward's. Jessica smiled once, waved in a way that she was absolutely sure was called "coquettish".

"Um, Edward..." And then came the fit of giggles, not just from her, but from the rest of the girls in the class. Edward simply waited for the laughter to subside, tapping his long, pale fingers on the desk in front of him.

"Okay, um, EdwardwouldyouliketogototheSpringDancewithme?" The embarrassment seemingly over, Jessica relaxed a little.

Edward looked Jessica up and down once. "No, not particularly," he responded, showing very little expression in his face, but Jessica could tell he was laughing in his head.

Jessica blushed bright red, and took her seat at the front of the classroom. Could he be any more blunt about it? The obvious answer was, no, probably not.
