Charming Encounter
"How did you get here so fast?" Caroline Forbes said feelingly slightly out of breath. She couldn't believe that Klaus had actually come to her rescue from Aja and the others. After how I've treated him, she thought.
Klaus gave her a knowing smile. "I was already on my way."
Caroline raised an eyebrow in confusion, she had only started calling him in desperation with a mix of annoyance just a short time ago. She doubted that he had already been on his way.
As if reading her mind, Klaus pulled out a red and white graduation announcement. One of the many she had sent. She had decided to send one to Klaus just for the fun of it. She didn't think he would actually show.
Caroline felt butterflies in her stomach.
Klaus looked amused by her expression. "I received your graduation announcement. It was very. . Subtle." Klaus can't help but smile when Caroline shuts her eyes smiling. He loves when she smiles and how her expressions change. She could go from angry and frustrated to happy and bubbly in a second. "I assume you're expecting cash?"
Caroline straightened up. "That or a mini fridge." she joked. Strangely, she had to keep her voice from trembling. Why was she so nervous? She had never felt this nervous around Klaus before.
"Well, I had considered offering you a first class ticket to join me in New Orleans. . .but I knew what you answer would be." Klaus trailed off.
Caroline raised an eyebrow in surprise. So he had remembered when she had told him that she hadn't gone exactly anywhere outside of Mystic Falls. And he wanted to take her to New Orleans, she couldn't help but feel flattered.
"So I opted for something that I knew you would accept."
Caroline looked at him waiting with endless curiosity. Caroline loved surprises. Especially when she knew about them.
"Tyler is now free to return to Mystic Falls.
Caroline gaped at him. "What?" She couldn't believe what he was saying. Tyler, back in Mystic Falls?
Klaus nodded. "He is your first love. I intend to be your last, however long it takes." he kissed her on the cheek softly, causing Caroline to blush slightly. "Congratulations, Caroline."
Caroline laughed softly. She didn't know why, but she was happy with what Klaus had said.
"Let's get out of here before twelve angry hybrids decided to pick a fight." Klaus told her as he unexpectedly squeezed her hand and they both began walking towards Caroline's house.
"So," she said. "You're leaving Mystic Falls for good, huh?"
Klaus looked at her, puzzled by her remark.
Caroline turned away. "Never mind, your probably have better things to do than stick around here."
"Nothing is more important to me than you Caroline," he whispered to her. "I'll come to Mystic Falls as many times and as much as you want me too.
Caroline gave a satisfied sigh. "Good. Because believe it or not I will actually miss you."
THE END
