**"Darling?"

**"What?"

**"May I ask you a question?"

**"Sure."

**"How's your dance card?"

**"Filled."

**"Filled?"

**"Uh-huh. And all by the same fella." She stood, and turned into Jonathan's arms.

**"I'm a lucky fella." She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled at him.

**"What a lucky girl." As they swayed together, Freeway ducked his head behind the pillow on the window seat.

Jonathan pulled her closer and felt her melt against him. When she sighed, he ran his hand up and down her back before placing a kiss on her temple.

"Do you think any of those girls will ever find their way out of that life?" Jonathan hugged his wife a little tighter.

"We can hope so."

"Maybe I can do a follow up article. I'd like for Sandy and the others to be remembered, not just as statistics, but as women who had dreams and hopes." Jonathan pulled back a bit so he could look into Jennifer's eyes and run his thumb over her cheek.

"You're amazing, you know that?" She was quiet for a while.

"It's always been a wonder to me how a small bit of fate can get us where we are." Jonathan was running his hand up and down his wife's back again, lost in the feel of her in his arms.

"Hmm. What do you mean?"

"Like you. Have you ever wondered where you might be if Max hadn't found you?" She felt him nod.

"It wouldn't be good, that's for sure. I'm thankful every day that he saw something in me." Jennifer placed a kiss on her husband's neck as he hummed "Someone to Watch Over Me". She leaned back so she could gaze at him.

"I'm glad that fate led us to each other."

Jonathan leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Jennifer's lips. When he pulled back he saw a wicked little gleam in her eyes.

"So, you like the way I walk, huh, Sailor?" Jonathan's eyes darkened.

"I could follow you all day long and never get tired of the view." She smiled seductively.

"Oh, yeah? Then why don't you follow me up to the bedroom?" He gave her a searing kiss before turning her toward the stairs and patting her bottom.

"Definitely don't ever change the way you walk." Her laugh washed over him as he watched her saunter toward the foyer, then turn back and crook a finger at him. That was all the invitation he needed for the night.
