Just Like the Movies
"Are you crying?" Rose hisses at him, laughter and disbelief coloring her tone and making her voice inch higher.
He flicks at the corner of his eye with a long, slender finger. Just how guilty this gesture looks is lost on him. "Nah, 'course not. Mickey just poked me in the eye. Big idiot."
"He poked you in both eyes, did he, Doctor?" She leans forward, pointing towards a fat tear leaking down the other side of his face, before scooping it up with her finger and brandishing it about like evidence.
"Yep. He's getting to be a cheeky one. Look at what that parallel world's done to him!"
"Oi!" Jackie calls from behind, waving her hands wildly towards Mickey. "He's crying too! Great blubbering baby!" Sure enough, when Rose wheels to face him, his eyes are red and puffy and he's furiously trying to wipe away all traces from his face.
"Well, he had to get me back, didn't he? Just couldn't let me go around pokin' him in the eye without poking me as well!" The Doctor nods fervently in agreement.
The two Tyler women glance at each other and they both grumble, "Men" before setting off down the hall, Pete trailing behind, blinking back a few traitor tears before they can betray him. The Doctor and Mickey stay put.
"We sure fooled them." The Doctor mutters, grinning and patting Mickey on the back before running to catch up to Rose. "It was beautiful though, wasn't it? The running and the hugging and all of it. We should give it a go. What do you think? You want to trot off down that way, and I'll go the opposite way, and on the count of three we'll run towards each other. It'll be just like the movies, it will." She grins, before reaching down to twine their hands together.
"Save it for later, Doctor." Pete growls, stepping closer to Rose with a look that most girls only see when their daddy's are close to threatening one of their boyfriends. "We're sort of in the middle of something at the moment."
"Oh… right."
The End
Author's Note: Random. =) Wrote it in about five seconds, in between commercials for The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. That show inspires me to write insanely random things…
Hope you enjoyed!
