Author's Notes: I kept seeing the E/O drabble challenges and I will admit that they all got me interested in perhaps trying something out myself. So, here's my first admission!

He was determined not to cry out for his big brother. No matter what the spirit dragging him down the hallway did, the hunter would not call out.

Then he saw the open doorway leading down into the basement.

Knowing what would happen if he were to get trapped down there, Sam twisted onto his stomach and started to yell for Dean.

His cries echoed down the empty corridor but no answering footsteps came. Nearly dropping his head in defeat as the ghost gave an especially hard tug, he caught himself from sagging in relief as he heard a bellow from upstairs.

"SAM!"
