Her heart ached at the sight of him, her once calm facade completely gone. She trembled, her vision slowly beginning to blur out. "No," she thought frantically. "There's no way it could be him. He died in my arms!" she screamed in her head.
The sounds of everyone's voices, the birds chirping outside the window, everything, had vanished. She was left with nothing but the sound of her own breathing, and the sight of a boy who she saw die in her arms. "Gin," Her mind screamed. "Gin!"
She wanted to jump up, to run into his arms and never let go, but something glued her to where she sat. As she watched him, she noticed that as he scanned the class he had passed right over her, not even bothering to make eye contact. "It's not him," her thoughts cried out. "It can't be him, he's dead. You know that."
Even though she told herself these things over and over again her heart didn't want to believe it. Since that night, the night that he had said goodbye one last time, she had never been the same. He had taken her heart with him, where ever he had gone.
She so desperately held onto the possibility that it could be him, but once he introduced himself to the class, she could not deny it any longer, he was not Gin.
"Hello," his calm voice greeted as he bowed. "My name is Shin Ishikawa."
Her heart sank as the tears finally flooded out of her eyes. She could feel her heart shattering once more, just like it had the moment he was taken away from her forever. Even though all of these things, these emotions, crashed onto her at once, she did not want to believe that he was not him. Her mind told her no, he is not him, he died in your arms, but her heart yearned for the boy right before her, telling her not to believe the lies her mind was telling her.
After a awhile she noticed that all eyes were now on her, even his. She quickly rose to her feet, hurriedly running out of the room. Just as she passed him, the one who looked so much like her beloved, she felt her heart jump, as if it was reassuring her that it was him. She gasped slightly, and then continued to rush out of the room, and down the hall. The determination in her only grew stronger at that point. She was going to get close to him, and find out if the one she loved so much had finally come back to her.
