River mumbled in her sleep, snugging a little closer to the Doctor like she did at this time every night. This cute little habit drove the Timelord absolutely mad, most likely since her mumbles almost always were his name. The Doctor gulped and began to sweat a bit as the guilt settled in. Knowing he probably wouldn't be able to tomorrow, he kissed his wife forehead, which was still warm from her hair and did not help his guilt at all, before untangling her limbs form her, giving her one last look, the running off into the TARDIS as quietly as he could.

"DOCTOR!" River shouted, storming from their shared bathroom, through the twists and turns of the halls and corridors of the TRADIS before barging into the Console Room. She found just what she thought she'd find. Her husband mumbling away at his "old girl". When River entered the room he looked up from the chameleon circuit he was fiddling with, although he'd never fix it, and smiled at his wife.

"Hello there. Looking beautiful as ever today. Did you do something different with your hair, love?" he asked, rising from his swing and running up the stairs to kiss River on the cheek. Once he pulled away she reached up one hand and slapped his clear across his face ,hard enough that even Jackie Tyler would be proud, quickly wiping away his little "innocence" act.

"Well that was uncalled for!" the alien retorted, clutching his throbbing cheek. Before he even knew what hit him (puns lol) he was clutching his other cheek too. "River! Stop hitting me!"

"No! You deserve it!" The Doctor looked shocked, but took a step away from his cross wife. "Why?" he asked raising one eyebrow.

"Oh, I don't know maybe because you STRAIGHTENED MY HAIR IN MY SLEEP!"
