A/NSo I wrote this after taking a muscle relaxer for a terrible neck ache, so I was a bit inebriated. I truly don't remember why I wrote it in this weird nameless third person. It is so not my MO. However, once I was sober enough, I re-read this and actually thought it was worth posting. Plus I love Lincoln/Fauxlivia to death, so I had to post it.

He knows they will never be the same man, he really does.

He knows that he was much more confident, that he had a certain swagger, that he was brash, but charming.

He knows that he is shy, he knows that he is awkward at times, and he knows that he is sweet. He knows that she loved him, even if they never told each other.

He also knows that she will never be her, even if they were so similar, but he doesn't care. This version of her feels right to him, even if she doesn't see that right now. Even if she can never look into his eyes without seeing him. He doesn't care. He will still try to be the man that deserves her, the man that is right for her. He doesn't even know what that means, not at this moment; standing, getting the last glimpse of a universe that he would never see again.

He nods to her, the one that looks so perplexed at his choice, reassuring her. Surely she knew that he loved her, and that's why he respected her choice-Her choice to remember something she didn't live.

He nods to the other man, the one standing beside of her. He understands that the two of them belonged together, no matter what universe. It reminds him of his old partner and his wife. True love.

She looks at him, standing by her side. Her green eyes met his, she was taken aback by his presence on this side of the large room. "I'm going to need you to help me find an apartment."

He grins impishly. She smiles, nodding in silent agreement. In a flash, he was disconnected from the world he was born into. He is no longer looking at his friends from his own universe. He just sees a wall. He feels a hand grab his, warmth in the touch. He smiles, holding tightly to the hand that is intertwined with his.

"I think there are some open apartments in my neighborhood."
