'Is there anyone in here? The door was unlocked.' Tom says as he walks in and sees the chair spin around to face him, seeing Noelle with tears falling down her face.

'I'm sorry,Tom. I just needed to be alone for a little bit.' Noelle says, her voice shaky. 'What's wrong, kiddo? You look like you saw something that you weren't supposed to.' Tom says, closing the door and walks over to the raven haired girl.

'Uncle Michael...slapped Aunt Kay.' Noelle says, trying not to start crying again. Tom picks her up out of the chair and hugs her. If it were anyone else who said that,he wouldn't believe them. He knew that something wasn't right when Michael said that Kay lost the baby.

'She said that it was an abortion and not a miscarriage. What kind of man hits a woman? It was like seeing Aunt Connie after That bastard Carlo would hurt her.' Noelle says, remembering when she first saw Connie with a black eye and a split lip.

'I saw bruises on my mother's face when i was younger. My dad was a violent man who hurt her,me and my sister. I'm sorry that you saw what you did. No child should ever have to witness that.' Tom says, pulling Noelle into his lap as he sits down and lets her rest her head against his shoulder.

'I...i didn't know that you went through that. You never talked about your life before you met Sonny.' Noelle says as Tom blinks his tears away.

'I thought that if i left it in the past that i'd never have to think about it again. I was scared more for my little sister and my mom than i was for myself. I hated my biological father for so long, sweetie.' Tom says.

'I don't hate Michael. It feels wrong to have love replaced with something that makes you feel cold and empty inside but i don't know if i can trust him anymore. What if i do something that makes him feels betrayed and he tries to hurt me?' Noelle says as Tom gently rubs her back to comfort her.

'Michael loves you,Noelle. He would never hurt you or any of his children. My father and mother couldn't find it in their hearts to love me and my sister but you are surrounded by people who love you and would do anything to protect you. Just like when Sonny took me in,i knew that i would be safe.' Tom says, taking his hand and brushes Noelle's tears away.

'You ever think about your little sister? What her life is like now?' Noelle says. 'All the time. She's the first thing on my mind when i wake up and the last thing when i go to sleep. I wonder if she settled down and started a family,if i have little nieces or nephews and if she's happy. She was so young when i last saw her, maybe five years old. A beautiful little girl with her whole life ahead of her. A lot like you, babydoll. Everyone who loves you will never let anything bad happen to you. I promise.' Tom says, kissing Noelle on her forehead as she starts to doze off, worn out from crying.

The older man starts singing once upon a dream from sleeping beauty,Noelle's favorite movie and she falls asleep, feeling safe in his arms. 'I know you're watching us from up there,Sonny. Keep an eye on Noelle. She needs you.' He whispers, a sad smile on his face.

He misses his brother.

That little boy who saved him, took him in when he had nowhere else to go.

Now the sleeping girl in his arms needed a guardian angel.
