{A/N}Written for my best friend Sarah, because she is sick today and I'm bored in the library at school! Sarah Anne McBree Pearl is the hobbit that Pippin fancies in this story, not Diamond of Long Cleeve. This is set right after the Fellowship exits the mines, and are mourning Gandalf. Of course, Sarah is also there now.

Peregrin Took hung his head, tears spilling silently from his eyes. How could he be gone? Gandalf the Grey, the wizard that Pippin had known his entire life, was gone. Silent sobs racked his body, and he could sense Merry and Sarah somewhere nearby. He didn't have the energy to look up, he just stared at the stones and the wet spots where his tears had fallen. What would they do now? How could they go on without the Gray Wizard? How would he ever continue with his life? Suddenly, from somewhere off to the left, he heard a tiny, whimpering sob. It was the most sad, pitiful sound he'd ever heard. So full of sadness. He looked up to find the source of the sound. It was Sarah. Oh, how could he be so heartless? Here he was, mourning over his own loss, and not thinking of how it affected anyone else. He managed to lift his heavy limbs and drag himself over to Sarah, embracing her tightly.
"Pippin, why'd he have to die? It's just not fair!" Sarah sobbed. Although the exact words were running through his mind, he knew he had to be strong for her. How could she ever love a hobbit that couldn't be strong?
"Everything happens for a reason, Sarah. It'll be okay...I'll miss him too..." Pippin tried to be soothing, though his words were cracked and his tears fell into Sarah's curly hair. This was all Sarah knew: Gandalf was gone. Never again would she see his laughing face, or watch in awe as his fireworks lit up the sky. She was glad she had Pippin. She buried her head in his shoulder and continued to cry. After several minutes of this, she heard the voice of Legolas, telling them to get up. "I can't," she thought to herself. "My heart is surely to heavy to carry!" Pippin sensed her hesitation, and smiled warmly. "C'mon, we'd best get going," he said. He took her hand in his, and together they drug on, leaning on each other, mourning their loss.
