Theme: Shades of Gray

He'd always seen things in shades of gray. Everyday moments passed him by, a blur of darkness and light. Nothing was clear, nothing was set in stone; everything was muddled in an in between world.
He shared a few rare glimpses of color: the blueness of the full moon on a still summer's night, the satisfying white-brown bark of a well-placed shuriken, the sharp and cutting red of his family's blood seeping toward his feet…
The world was gray, lines were unclear, and promises hid apprehension and distrust.

He'd always seen things in shades of gray. Nothing stood out, and the world around him blended together into an ever complicated chaos. But, he shared a few rare glimpses of color: the brilliant, sky blue of his eyes; his vivid, endearing orange nature; and the golden promise of future days.

AN: OK...that somehow felt a bit strange to write. When I was suddenly overcome with the urge to write something, I didn't expect it to be semi-dark. o.O I dunno, I just really wanted to write fanfiction for some reason. Possibly because I haven't written fanfiction for over a year...sorry, drawing will always be my number one. Still, it felt nice to write for fun again. I need to brush up on my creative writing more. Darn you high school D:

The pairing is SasuNaru-ish by the way. It could still be taken as friendship though. Even though this is too optimistic for Sasuke, I'd like to think that this was his thought process before he got his priorities all mixed up. -smacks him-
