Interview with Thomas
By: GordonFan400
Gordon Fan 400: Hello! Welcome to Sodor interviews! My first guest to be interviewed is the #1 engine himself. Thomas! So Thomas, how are you?
Thomas: Welcome to Sodor!!
Gordon Fan 400: What? Are you ok?
Thomas: Oh, sorry I'm just so used to saying that at the beginning of every episode. I'm fine thank you.
Gordon Fan 400: Yes well, during the interview I'm going to ask you some questions.
Thomas: Okay! Ask away!
Gordon Fan 400: All right! First, what's it like being the star of you own TV show?
Thomas: It's challenging but very rewarding! We do many scenes on the set every day. It is hard, but making the little kids happy is worth it!
Gordon Fan 400: I see. And what is it like on the sets?
Thomas: Well, every day, the crew members arrive and bring us out of our cases, then they put us all in the proper places on-set, then we go over our lines for the show, and then they test the camera to make sure it works properly, and then we film the episode and then it's aired on TV, and that's pretty much how it all works!
Gordon Fan 400: Very interesting. And how do these cameras work?
Thomas: Well, it's kind of hard to say, we've always used a 35-mm movie camera to film the show. It was designed by the director David Mitton and Terry Permane, our director of photography. It was built in the United States with lenses ground in Japan. It incorporates an inverted periscope and can get down to within 1" of the track. The depth of field is an incredible 1" to infinity!
Gordon Fan 400: That is very impressive Thomas! And there is one thing I've been dying to know, what has happened to Duck and the other characters?
Thomas: Well, it's sort of secret, but I'll let you in on it. Duck and the others have been in storage ever since season 8 started. We have a storage room in the studio where all those characters are kept.
Gordon Fan 400: Well do you think those characters will ever return in the up and coming seasons?
Thomas: It's not too likely, but it is possible. Rusty's made his return already, and Sir Handel just made his comeback in season 10.
Gordon Fan 400: Well that is very interesting Thomas. Thank you for giving us your time!
Thomas: My pleasure! In fact-
THOMAS!!!!!
Oh bother!
It's Fat Hat! Err…I mean Sir Topham Hat! I'd better go before
he snaps at me for smashing his car with some trucks!!
Whoa! You
really did that?!
Yes, but it was an accident! I mean those
trucks pulled me on purpose!!!
OK….. Well thanks for coming Thomas!
Sure thing. Bye!!
And that was a very in trouble Thomas! Next time, we'll have Edward the blue engine! Goodbye Folks!!!
