They found someone who'd help, with the chip. It had been firing randomly all day to the point where she didn't know how much Spike had left. Now they were sitting waiting for them to come in and start the operation.
Buffy noticed that Spike had been extremely quite since they got in the room. His eyes were downcast and…was he shaking? Buffy made the startling discovery.
"Spike?" she was surprised when he jumped
"There's nothing to be scared of. I'm going to be right here the whole time." She said reassuringly
"I hate this place, I was here for a week, they starved me…dissected, cutting me up just so they could study me. They…they say we're evil but…but they're the ones. Buffy I'm so scared." He was taken back when Buffy hugged him, his head rested on Buffy's shoulder.
They stayed like that even when the doctors came in. Spike tensed his whole body going rigid. He squeezed his face into Buffy's shoulder, resembling to a child getting his first shot. He began to tremble and tears sprang into his eyes.
"Sh, Spike remember what I said before." He began to sob seeming to revert into a petrified child.
"Please, Please I'm sorry. Buffy don't let em' take me. Don't leave me." He pleaded
"Oh Honey, it's okay I'm not going anywhere." She said the sweet nickname slipping from her lips but she didn't care who heard her.
"Miss. Summers, we need to hurry he hasn't have much time left." One of the doctors said.
"Spike their going to put you to sleep, but I'm going to be here the whole time. Don't you worry about anything. Okay?" she asked and was relieved to feel him nod into the crook of her neck
"Now extend you arm so the doctor can put some medicine into your arm." She said as if she were explaining it to a child. She was rewarded when he extended his arm but his head was turned the other way and he had a death grip around Buffy who rubbed reassuring circles on his back. The doctor gave him the shot and he tried to fight it he was whimpering into Buffy's neck.
"Shh, it'll be fine. I'm going to make sure you get better." She said and kissed him on the forehead.
"Wuv ou" he said just before Spike lost to the sedative and went limp in Buffy's arms.
"Love you too." She said just before she laid him back on the operating table.
