A/N: This is for Ruetheday's 'Frozen In Time' contest. I hope you like it! Feel free to review or whatever, because that would be great! I am writing this for Bobbin, who is my wonderful tribute in Ruetheday's story 'Violets Are Blue: the Ninth Hunger Games'. You should check it out!
I did the edits on the photo, by the way. It is a pocket watch frozen in ice, and I edited the Mockingjay pin on it. I think it ties in nicely!
I don't own the Hunger Games, but I do own a totally awesome Mockingjay pin:)

He sits at the kitchen table, the silence enveloping him. A bottle, the first of many, is lifelessly clutched in his hand. His dark, curly hair shields his eyes as he downs another gulp of the burning liquid. He has finally realized that a life like this is not worth living. Within a few minutes, he finally passes out, his head resting on the wooden table. The glass bottle falls and shatters to pieces on the floor.

She sits on the sand, watching the waves hit the shore. People think that she is mad, but she knows different. The voices she hear aren't threats, but instead friends. At a young age she had to face trials that shouldn't be faced, yet she lived. The shore helps remind her that she is just a wave in the ocean, but she hasn't yet crashed.

He walks down the streets of the Capitol, going to meet his next client. People love his company, paying extreme amounts of money to obtain it. Though he loves another, he finds himself in bed with a new buyer every night. He knows that it is the only way to protect her. He sees the green door halfway down the street, and walks in silently. Time to lose yet another part of himself.

She throws the axes at the trunks as if her life depends on it, and it did at one point. She refused to be a part in there game, and now they are gone. Three days prior the house was caught on fire, leaving her on her own. No one left to love her. When she went to the arena she pretended to be weak, little did she know that it would soon become truth.

This is what the Hunger Games create; A victor.
Victors are winners, escaping the arena over 23 others.
They are glorified and lusted over. People get jealous of the attention they get. Most want to be them.
What those people don't know is that a victor would trade their life for another's any day.
They are puppets in the big scheme of things. These puppets are controlled, President Snow always keeping his winkles hands tight around the strings. Their freedom was lost as soon as they got on stage at the reaping.
You watch them parade around the Capitol, looking as though they are having the time of there lives. Only they know how far from the truth that really is.
Enormous lengths are taken just so they out live the rest. They receive the best treatments to make them look like they did before the arena. They are still youthful in their death beds.
One wrong move and their loved ones are dead, but they never go along with them.
They are forced to live life, even if it means one of addiction, abuse, and lies.
You can watch recaps of their victory, you can even visit the very arena they fought in. They are remembered as heroes, people never forgetting their names.
They are always there.
A victor is, and always will be.
They are forever.
Frozen in time.
