HELLO

I really don't know where this came from but seeing as I haven't written anything in a long time, I decided to post it. Hope you like it at least a little.

I don't own Harry Potter.

Happy birthday Neville Longbottom and advanced happy birthday Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling, you've made my life magical.

It's supposed to be the happiest day of his life. Today is his wedding day. He's supposed to be happy. So why does it feel like a death sentence?

He's waiting at the altar with Blaise beside him as his best man. He can feel Blaise's unease about the whole situation from where he stands a few feet away because unlike everyone else in this room, Blaise actually knows this isn't anything at all like he had wanted.

His face is frozen in a sort of half grimace as the bridesmaids enter. His mother is poised and calm on the outside but he can tell she wants to hex him for not collecting himself better.

Pansy Parkinson, the only one of the bridesmaids who truly knows his situation is the first to reach the altar. She gives him a look of deep pity before moving to stand in her place. He nods curtly at her and manages to school his expression into something his mother would approve of.

Next, the other bridesmaid, the sister of the bride approaches. Much like her sister, Daphne Greengrass is thrilled by this union. She has no clue, nor would she care if she did, that Draco Malfoy isn't nearly as pleased as she is. As she smirks at him before standing in her place, his grimace returns. His mother coughs delicately to remind him of proper behavior like she used to when he was younger.

The little flower girl walks toward him throwing a handful of her white rose petals with each step. White for purity he remembers, and once again is reminded of why he is here in the first place and all he had to give up because of it, all because in his family, purity was more important than love.

As soon as she reaches her place, the music starts up an the guests rise. Every head is turned to where the bride stands at the end of the aisle; all except two.

"I hope you know that this is a permanent binding," Blaise whispers, looking at the groom who laughs humorlessly.

"Of course I know that," he then concentrates on keeping his face as blank as possible.

And then all eyes are on the bride who is beaming hugely. She is beautiful, but the only thing the groom can focus on is how her hair is styled. Perhaps she does know something about what he's been through. Her dark brown hair is perfectly curled, falling just inches below her shoulders. This, combined with the sight of her dark brown eyes, is the only things keeping him from bolting.

Her father places her hand in his and the ceremony begins. He mostly tunes it out. She's watching him the entire time. She knows he doesn't love her the way she loves him, but perhaps in time he will.

Only during the vows does he start paying attention and fully look at her. He stares straight into her dark brown eyes and that's when he realizes the connection, her hair, her eyes, everything about her. It was those eyes that haunted him in his dreams, if only it was the same person.

And all too soon, before he knows it, it's over.

"I do," he says with real love in his voice.

The old preacher pronounces the dreaded sentence, "I now pronounce you bonded for life. You may kiss the bride."

He keeps his eyes locked on hers as he leans forward to kiss her, all the while imagining it was another girl with bushier hair and the same colored eyes.

Well?

Feedback is much appreciated but please no flames, I'm out of practice and this just came to me when my friends and I were talking about how J.K. Rowling never put in a set description of Astoria Greengrass. I hope I made it clear enough whom the other girl was.

Thanks for reading though!
