Far on the East
Prologue
The world of Japanese magical community is a world full of mysteries. They attract attention with their exotic stories and legends. They are people of deception. They have been building webs of secrecy around them from time to time since their first predecessor alienated himself from the world of magic.
It is only one thing that is well known about them from our bilateral connection with them. It is about the concept of their government. Very different from us, the government of Japanese magical community is dominated by a certain prestigious family.
This family holds power upon all Japanese wizards and as this family is very wealthy. Both of those qualities made them dubbed as the royal family. And this is what we don't have: a monarchy.
The governmental power of Japanese wizard is represented within a big, royal family. This royal family is the Fujiwara clan, consisted of totally eight houses of the family with different names, nine, if you count the main house.
The main house includes those who use Fujiwara name as their surname. The known trait of those from the main house is obvious. They are people with eyes of melting gold, hair blacker than day without sun and skin whiter than clouds. They are the royalty themselves, ones who have the highest power among those in the same level. Their amount is very limited, one on every generation. But they are powerful, prodigies among prodigies, beauties among beauties, wisest among wise ones. They are the "Tenno" and their people call them immortal ones.
The first house is known as advisors' house. This house is dubbed as the house of Yamamoto.
The second house is known as healers' house. This house is dubbed as the house of Fuji.
The third house is known as scientists' house. This house is dubbed as the house of Hitsugaya.
The fourth house is known as politicians' house. This house is dubbed as house of Tachibana.
The fifth house is known as strategists' house. This house is dubbed as house of Zaisan.
The sixth house is known as the monastery, or house of priest and priestess. This house is dubbed as house of Uranaishi.
The seventh house is known as soldiers' house. This house is dubbed as the house of Hakai.
And the eighth house is where the protectors of The Tenno born. They were those who had no surname, and their house was simply called as the house of Shinobi.
These powerful people of an island far on the east have refused a treaty of alliance that our government offered several years ago. They prefer to alienate themselves, just like their ancestor did centuries ago. For them, a war which do not happen in their land with enemies who never entangled in their business, is not something they want to be involved or to fought. Until today, they stood in a neutral position as "grey wizard".
