Hold Me:
Amanda Grayson lay in her bed, never had she felt more alone. She couldn't bring herself to regret leaving Earth to live with Sarek on Vulcan. No, it wasn't regret, it was just a simple loneliness. Amanda was different to everyone on Vulcan, wherever she went she stood out, and it wasn't just the ears. She had grew up on Earth, she couldn't live through logic over emotion. She often felt as though many of the Vulcans wanted her to change and act in their way, but she couldn't. She couldn't give up her emotions, and even if she could she didn't want to. She was human, emotions were an important part of her. Although, if she was completely honest right now she wouldn't mind giving up this emotion which was making her feel alone on a well populated planet.
She never thought she'd miss Earth. Leaving seemed like a huge adventure, the right thing to do, and most importantly she would be with Sarek and that was what she wanted more than anything. She never thought she'd want to go back, though. She was sure Vulcan was be better than Earth, a planet run by logic wouldn't get itself into pointless wars the way Earth often did. And yet there was something about Earth that she missed. Feelings, that was it. On Earth even the most cold-hearted of people had some sort of emotion. On Earth you could tell a small amount about how someone was feeling just by looking at them. On Vulcan everyone looked blank. She didn't want to live on Earth again, but she would love to visit it. Or even just see it again, from a distance, to know it was still there, and that there was still a planet full of people who understood emotion. Sarek tried, Amanda knew Sarek would do anything for her, but he wasn't human, he didn't completely understand her emotions.
Sarek came in the room at that moment. When he looked at Amanda he could tell something was wrong. Amanda's face was always completely readable in a way that a Vulcan's never was, her mouth was a frown and her eyes looked sad. He wasn't sure how he knew when her eyes were sad, but he did. He asked her what was wrong.
Amanda looked up at Sarek and managed a small smile 'I'm planet sick' she replied.
'Planet sick?' Sarek repeated.
'Well I couldn't exactly say homesick, when the Earth is no longer my home' she explained. 'I miss… humans'
'That is understandable, Amanda' Sarek said. 'Is there anything I can do to help you?'
Amanda thought for a moment before answering 'Just… hold me, Sarek'
'I do not…' Sarek started to say he didn't understand.
Amanda held up a hand to stop him. She stood up and walked towards Sarek. She wrapped her arms around his, feeling the warmth of his body next to hers. After a moment or so Sarek responded by raising his arms and wrapping them around Amanda, bringing her closer to him. She leaned her head on his shoulder and a couple of tears fell down her cheek.
Amanda then took Sarek's hand and lead him towards the bed, drying her eyes with her other hand. She lay there with her head on his chest and his arm around her body. She knew then that she would be all right in Vulcan, because she would never truly be alone. She fell asleep on Sarek and he was still there when she woke up the next morning.
A/N: This is my first Sarek/Amanda story, so please R&R and let me know how I did! ly'all, Carly.
