There were four things that Spirit Albarn loved more than his own life:

1. His daughter Maka

2. Women

3. booze

4. Gambling

Sometimes the order went awry and his daughter suffered the emotional consequence of his actions he knew he should stop he knew he was drowning the memory of his ex-wife at the bottom of a bottle of whisky and left the pain of his daughter's resentment on the skin of any beautiful woman he could take to bed. But despite his knowing of this he continued his spiraling descent his daughter was independent she knew how to take care of herself, hell she took care of him too she wouldn't miss him if one day he kicked the bucket and didn't return home. She was a good girl just like her mother had been she was the spitting image of her too and maybe that is why he tried to spend less time with her than he should.

He knew it was wrong and he hated himself for it, he shouldn't have put his beloved daughter in this mess but it was too late now he owed money, a lot money. Money he didn't even have but his pride had such a grip on him and he bet his biggest treasure, his most priced possession; his only daughter. He watched her sleeping peacefully in her bed unknowing of the fucked up fate her father had sentenced her to she'd be 18 in a few hours and that teared him up. Silent sobs racked his body as he turned to walk away stumbling down the hall to the living room he plopped down on the couch elbows on his knees and his head hung in shame Kami would kill him if she were still alive, in a way he was glad she had gone to the great beyond she would be absolutely livid with him he sent a silent prayer up to her for forgiveness though he knew he did not deserve it.

A knock on the door broke his reverie and he managed to get up wiping spit and alcohol from his lips "Who is it?" he called drunkenly swaying like a pendulum he righted himself at the answer "Open the door Albarn before I knock it down right now!" came the heated voice and Spirit knew he was fucked they had told him they would collect in a few hours he thought it meant the next day it appeared he was wrong. "Hold.. Hold on!" he called back and walked to open the door he did not want to wake up Maka, hopefully he could get them to come back at another time, he needed to confess his sin to his daughter before they took her from him. "Hurry it up I don't have all night!" snapped the man on the other side angrily Spirit opened the door and it burst open the momentum sending him tumbling back "Where is she?" Giriko asked, Spirit hated him he was nasty and cruel one of Asura's henchmen he was as grimy as he looked dressed in jeans and steel toed boots. "She's sleeping can't you wait until morning?" Spirit asked from his place on the floor "I need to talk to her." Giriko smirked saw-like teeth glinting dangerously "Fat chance Albarn the Boss wants her now so we're here to collect now where is she?" The man behind him moved forward his wide frame blocking the entrance the words "No Future" tattooed above his eye patch.

Defeated Spirit pointed down the hallway and the big man walked to where he pointed a few minutes later he cradled the sleeping girl in his arms without another word they headed out the door Spirit watched in shame as his daughter was carried away from him and he did nothing to stop them.
