Bruce and Diana sat in the front seats of a black Rolls Royce, one of Bruce's favorites. As the New York country side sped by, Diana placidly flipped through a fashion magazine. Bruce was completely fixated on the road, taking in his surroundings and silently reveling in the calm autumn colors around him. He was dreading arriving in Metropolis, making the drive so much sweeter.
Diana, on the other hand was not having an enjoyable time. Bruce had said nothing the entire trip. There was literally no dialogue. Hell, there were no sounds at all, save the gentle hum of the engine and the occasional page flip. They were only an hour in and she was going insane. There was no way the princess could handle another hour of this. An idea popped into her head and a smirk crossed her lips. Her cerulean eyes cut over making sure the coast was clear.
With super human speed she popped open the dash and grabbed her CD case. Before Bruce could even think to protest, she slid in a pop CD. She flipped the volume all the way up as the disc skipped to a song.
Bruce had just managed to turn and give his wife a half-hearted bat-glare when she started singing along to Taylor Swift's "22." She turned to meet his gaze, still sing with a giant grin plastered to her face. Bruce rolled his eyes, turning to face the road again, barely holding back a smile.
The Batman was supposed to be somber and distant, but his Woman of Wonder could always bring out his best side and before he knew it he was singing right along, laughing with the Amazon.
As the song ended Bruce turned the radio down before the next one could start and glanced over at Diana. She was smiling at him, an accusing look in her eye. He shifted his gaze to the road for a second before looking back at Diana. The staring contest continued for another minute before asked playfully,
"What?"
Diana turned back to the road and replied,
"It's nothing."
"Then wipe that look off your face."
Diana heard the smile in voice and couldn't help but laugh. She turned back to Bruce.
"You seem to know that song pretty well."
Bruce reddened and turned back to face the road.
"Well, uh, sometimes when you're not there and I'm on the treadmill, uh, I listen to your iPod."
Diana was silent for a moment. Bruce refused to look at her out of embarrassment. Finally, she leaned over and kissed his cheek, filling him with warmth and leaving him with a dopey smile.
"You're so weird."
Bruce laughed and turned the music back up. Yeah, he was enjoying the trip.
