On a cold and windy Saturday morning in March, Harry woke to the distant sound of his wife cooking breakfast. He slowly got up, wiped sleep from his eyes and proceeded into the kitchen to kiss his wife good morning.
"Morning love and happy anniversary," he said to her as he poured himself a cup of coffee and kissed Ginny on her cheek.
"Good morning," she replied brightly as she scrambled eggs, "and a happy two year anniversary to you too. I've made us breakfast and obviously the coffee, and once I'm done I'll bring it outside on the porch." Harry nodded his head and swiped a piece of French toast and gave her another kiss before he walked outside.
Once Ginny came out with their food she sat down and they ate. They chatted the morning away about friends, and family, work, and how surprisingly well the Chudley Cannons were doing in League and how satisfied they know Ron will be with this news.
"You have be certain that when you see Ron today, you do your very best to not have this information get to his head," Ginny stated humorously.
"Oh, definitely," Harry responded sarcastically, "and if it does, I'll tackle him to ground and pin his arms until he promises me that this Cannon achievement will not be long lasting."
"What will happen if it does?" Ginny asked him curiously.
"Then he can tackle me," he said wistfully which earned a small laugh from Ginny.
The morning carried on until Harry got up from his seat to get ready for work, much to their dismay. Before Harry left, he gave Ginny a meaningful kiss on the lips and said, "I'll see you tonight for dinner, and remember – I'm cooking." With that, he apparates to his office.
"Happy Anniversary to you mate," Ron said greeting his best friend and brother-in-law.
"Thanks Ron," he replied with a smile.
"So, do you have big plans for today?" Ron asked as they walk side by side down the corridor to their office.
"Some," Harry replied casually, "I'm leaving work early to run a few errands for things that are necessary for tonight."
"Like what?" Ron asked him suspiciously.
"Like," Harry exaggerated, "Flowers, chocolate, food I'm going to cook for tonight. That sort of stuff."
"Right, yeah," Ron said. Harry gave him a skeptical look, but chose not to say anything because he knows he would regret it once he spoke it.
"What do you plan on cooking?" Ron asked.
"Oh, well Ron," Harry started with a smirk, "that's a surprise you're not allowed to know."
Harry came home from running his errands at 4, "Plenty of time to cook," he thought to himself and started to prepare dinner. By the time it was 5:30, dinner was ready and Ginny had come home from reviewing a Quidditch match.
Ginny greeted her husband with a quick kiss before she headed up the stairs to change into nicer clothes for the evening. When she walked into the bedroom and gave a small gasp as she saw a small bouquet of Sweet Peas wrapped in silver ribbon and a small gift bag placed where she sleeps.
She picks the flowers up gently and smells them and notices a small note attached to the ribbon. It reads: "Ever since 6th year, you've been my Sweet Pea Love Harry". She looks inside the gift bag and sees he bought her a bottle of Sweet Pea perfume. She quickly changes, sprays the perfume, then walks downstairs to her husband.
"Why'd you write 'since 6th year'?" Ginny questions as she plays with the note.
"I wrote that, darling, because you always had sweet pea perfume on you as a teenager. Also, when I first smelled Amortentia I smelled sweet peas," he explained.
"I love you," she told him softly.
"I love you," Harry says to her as he stroked her cheek.
"Why do I always believe you?" Ginny questioned him sweetly.
"Because it's always true," Harry replied thoughtfully while looking straight into her soft chocolate brown eyes, "Always."
