The Mirror

A mirror is for seeing, for looking

With its glass in its frame

And its reflection more beautiful

Than the life one sees

With their own two eyes

It does not show the future

It does not show the past

Only day by day; hour by hour,

Time after time; only the present

Before I saw only myself in this reflection

I only saw the beauty that I believed in

Not Love, never love but Dreams and Hopes

But than you came along

And I found the reflection had changed

Was it for the best or the worse; only time would tell

Now I saw not only myself

But now you stood with me

Not overly close at first

But as time pasted

We grew into one single reflection

Our Dreams, our Hopes became one

I believed that it would last; I hoped it would

You made me feel like I could be myself

With you I was happy; once upon time

However as time passed

The reflection changed and before I knew

What had happened, it was too late

You were gone…

And you took my hopes and dreams with you

I saw darkness now

The reflection showed me death

Darkness, sadness, and bitterness

And what's one more thing

The glass was shattered

The image contorted; the reflection now askewed

Glass missing in places that was part of me

No thanks to you, I'll become free of this

This death trap

And I'll rebuild my reflection like nothing has happened

And then I'll see you and see your mirror shatter

And guess what I'll just laugh…

You deserve it…

After what you did to me…
