Hayner watched as Olette gave the Valedictorian speech. Of course it was her. Every one knew it was going to be her since freshman year. She was also the reason he was able to graduate. He was always practicing, struggling, or skating to do homework. So, Olette to the rescue. She let him copy her homework, helped him study, the works. He had realized somewhere between the cram sessions and late night calls to figure out how to do the math home work, he had fallen for her, hard. But he could never tell her. As she took her seat he realized that today would probably be his last chance to tell her. 'How do I tell her this?' Hayner thought to himself, 'Will I just make a fool out of myself?' Olette looked over at Hayner and smiled, her eyes glittering. Hayner sighed.
Something in the way you look at me
the way your eyes sparkle in the light

Tells me everything will be alright
After graduation Olette walked up to Hayner, 'Hayner?' 'Yeah, Olette?' 'How'd I do?'
'Great, I loved your speech.' Hayner said, looking down at the floor. He nervously shoved his hands in his pockets. 'Hayner?' Olette said sweetly, 'What is it?'

'Olette I...' He faltered. Then hesitantly pulled her to him. She smiled. How often has she dreamed of being in his arms? She had lost count. Olette laughed to herself. Who would have thought that rough and tough 'Mr. Attitude problem' could be so gentle. It was beyond her. She didn't know how long she had been in love with her best friend. It just happened. When did they cross that line of 'just friends'? She wished she knew. She looked into his eyes, trying to read the situation. He was always so aloof why did he choose today to hug her? They had known each other since elementary school, as far as she remembered this was the first time they had hugged.

Pausing, he pressed his lips to hers. Olette was surprised, but pleasantly so. Closing her eyes she kissed him back, putting one hand on his face and the other on his arm. Slowly he pulled away 'Olette, I...I love you.' Smiling, she hugged him and whispered, 'I love you too.' into his chest. 'I should have done this along time ago.' Hayner muttered to himself. Olette smiled, 'Yes, you should have.' she responded hearing his mumble. He laughed softly 'Your the genius.' She giggled. 'Thats right, so listen to me.' He just kissed her again.

'Hayner?' Olette mumbled. 'Yeah?' 'I think this is the first time in a long time I've actually felt alive. Like my heart has suddenly been filled' 'Really?' He said, kissing the top of her head. She smiled, 'Yea, it sounds weird, but its true.'
