Ryuuki stared at the sky wistfully. 'We will always be here. Always and forever. We will wait for you.'
"Your Highness?" Kouyu glanced over at him, concerned.
He immediately returned to his paperwork.
Shuuei and Kouyu shook their heads as they too, returned to work.
However, they were both still concerned about the Emperor.

Shuurei shuffled some papers and stretched.
We are not in any hurry. You don't need to hurry.
She sighed.
He was distant now, a shadow of what he once was.
And he lost everything... All his dreams. Except for one.
And she was withholding that from him. He waited. Each year, each time she visited, he would wait for her, patiently.
And he had changed, so much so that everyone aknowledged him as emperor and yet...
He was becoming more distant each time.
And he kept on trying, working harder and harder, all but burying himself in his work.
Aishiteru... Shuurei, Shuurei... Aishiteru.
She gave a wan smile as she stood up.
"You're meeting him now?" Seiran asked from the doorway.
She nodded somberly.
"Yes."
'Will you give him your answer? Will you shatter what's left of him... His only remaining dream?'
The words hung between them, without being said.
She turned away abruptly. "I'm... I'm going now."
"... Good luck." Seiran murmured softly as she left.
Shuurei left.

Ryuuki stood outside.
It was here... The place they would always meet.
Alone.
It seemed improper, though nothing ever actually happened, so it was alright.
Rumors were only rumors, after all.
Shuurei walked over to him. It snowed, the landscape was picturesque. "Beautiful."
"It is, isn't it?" Ryuuki muttered, as if he was convincing himself.
"It's been a while, hasn't it, Ryuuki?"
"Too long," he breathed. "... Too long, Shuurei. Shuurei... Aishiteru, aishiteru, Shuurei."
Shuurei didn't move. It was a bittersweet moment. Slowly, she stepped forward and embraced him. "You're right, it has been too long."
Ryuuki moved closer. "Now?"
"Not yet. Okay? You are... Someone else as well."
"We will wait."
"We will."
