This drabble was inspired by "Enigma" by Ensanguined Sage. It's a wonderfully well written story about the OS cast in college, mainly focusing on Fred and Gene and their developing relationship. If you haven't read it before and enjoy the Fred x Gene pairing, go and read it! The drabble is written with the pretense of Fred and Gene as roommates and in perhaps an established relationship. Fred woke to the alarm clock's shrill beeping. The body next to his only burrowed deeper under the covers. His own body was sluggish and it was a good few minutes before the alarm clock was turned off. His companion snuggled closer to him in silent thanks. That only added to his reluctance to leave the bed. Lazily his hand stroked through the soft red hair next to his head. The response was a soft murmur of undistinguishable words. He sighed deeply as he gathered his courage to leave the warm bed for the chilled air of the room and a cold floor. Mercifully it was swift, his toes instantly numbing as he padded slowly towards the bathroom door. As he was closing the door he caught a glimpse of his roommate rolling over into the warm intent that his body had left. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly in a brief smile. There was a quiet click as the door closed.
