It thoroughly depressed me when Sakina chose Imaan.

It is Eid. Imaan has promised Sakina he will come back to her at the same bridge at which they had said their last farewells.

Yet, Raj, Raj has filled that void she felt. Night after night after night after night she spent in his company, listening to his advice about not lettingdukh win and forgetting Imaan.

But Sakina is certain her Imaan will come back. He loves her too, no? But no letters, no calls: If a boy really loves a girl, won't he at least try to contact her?

Or is the lack of contact supposed to be a test of fidelity? If so, four nights alone with Raj out on the streets will shatter Sakina's reputation if anyone else learns about them…she would be called a dhandewali.

The entire community loves Raj--his dreaminess, his music, his message of hope. Would she leave her dreamer loverboy for a soldier who refused to communicate with her? Could she?

Sakina takes Raj to the bridge with her. Saawariya looks so handsome in his red velvet coat. She could have kissed him then and there, but it would have been improper.

Sakina even stopsSaawariya from pressing his lips against hers. She has to remain faithful to Imaan; he is expecting her to have.

She sees Imaan's profile on that sacred bridge of hers. Her brain commands her feet to run to Imaan, but it is as if her heart blocks every nerve signal, for it desires naught but Saawariya.

Imaan is dust compared to the gem that Raj is, yet her brain refuses to believe that her heart wants Raj instead. It still claims that Imaan is better in every way for her.

It's common knowledge that a war between the heart and the head will inevitably result in the heart's victory.

So Sakina stays in Raj's arms. Her heart even goes as far as to provide her with enough lustiness and candor to kiss him, full across the lips.Saawariya lifts her into his arms, never breaking the kiss even while he spins her around and walks towards their bridge.

Imaan finally sees them. Or rather, he sees a fellow in a red velvet coat with a hat that covers his face kissing a girl in a blue ghagra.

Only after the boy puts down the girl and tosses her umbrella does Imaan notice that girl is Sakina.

No longer his Sakina, but Saawariya's Sakina

Yes, it's AU. Yes, she would never kiss him. Yes, I know.
