In a World of Darkness

Chapter 1: Capture
It is dark, and it is raining. From the east a hooded man rides by on a horse and splashes mud into a log that a male Neko no older than sixteen is hiding in. As the man leaves the boy's line of sight, he crawls out of the log. His fur covered in mud from the long wait within the log.
"Finally I can go in," He scowled in a soft tone. As he climbed the overhead of a cliff, he spotted one of the Imperial's base camps. Most of the Imperial was inside of the barracks, but there were still many night watchmen posted throughout the camp. "Damn, the one time that I have to save Mary, she has to be captured while it's raining." He looked down upon his paw and held the charm that his sister Mary had given him and grasped it firmly. "I just hope that I am in time to save her."
He focused on the camp for some time so that he could note some of the patterns of the guards and so he could find the holding cell. After he had found the cell, he took a deep breath and leapt off the cliff and landed behind of a tent with a soft thud. He cautiously looked around to check to see if any of the guards had heard him. After a short wait, he continued through the camp. As he reached the tent that was behind of the holding cell the guards were leaving to fetch two more guards to relieve them of their duty.
He used this as his chance to get to the cell. He bent into the cage and whispered for his sister to wake up. "Mary. Mary wake up, it is me, Shaun. You need to wake up I'm busting you out of here." After she woke up, Shaun picked the lock on the door with his nails.
Mary embraced Shaun and whispered with tears streaming down her face "Thank you Shaun, you got here just in time, they were about to execute me."
"I'm sorry, I had to wait for the officers to leave." As he said this he realized that they were still inside the camp. "Shit, we have to go now!" He helped his sister cast smoke and she ran through the woods to get back home. As he turned around he felt a hard strike on the back of his head, and he fell to the ground with a loud thud.
