Left For Dead

Nessie had a hard childhood.

She couldn't go to regular schools. The few friends she could have, she couldn't be friends with for long. She was locked up in that house with her family all day, Edward and Bella home schooling her until the afternoon. Keeping her at home ninety-nine point nine percent of the time.

But there were times, however few and far between, that she got to do whatever she wanted to do.

Weekends were all hers, which meant La Push was open game, and while she always wanted to spend time with Jacob, there was one other wolf that held a special place in her heart for one special reason.

She would walk into his small house, Sue eyeing her disdainfully as she stayed in her small kitchen, cooking up food for Seth and his brethren, and she would sit and play video games with him.

Her anger would be poured into two joysticks and four triggers, fingers flying against the control as zombie after zombie came after the two of them, the only voices coming from the television screen or in shouted curses at said television.

It would only take an hour or so before the tension would leave, and she would have to go back.

"Feel better?" He always asked as she grabbed her small bag, throwing it over her shoulder as she checked her watch for curfew.

And she would always answer with a well deserved, "Exceptionally."

They would both smile at each other, and wait for the next weekend when zombies, homemade apple pie and each others company was enough, just enough for each others sanity.

Author's Note: This one goes out for my brother, Russell. Who is amazing in every way. And whom this is inspired by. I love him, and support him with everything. Reviews are love. -Delta
