Disclaimer: I do not own Resident Evil, Code Veronica X, or the characters in this story. [But damn, I do wish I had me some Steve.]

Authors Notes: Oh, jeez. Um, LOOK. SOME ACTIVITY HAS HAPPENED. I've written a few blurbs lately, but none of them have been actual "fanfiction." So they're posted on my deviantart. The name is half-a-heart, if you wanna give me a look. This is a really short fanfic, it's short of 400 words. Usually not what I post, but this is what my fingers wrote. Takes place right after Claire and Steve get off of the island and are heading in the plane.

Steve could feel the warmth of her cheek against his shoulder. It was a nice change from the cold air in the airplane. He couldn't help but smile, glancing sideways to the older girl. He was careful to stay still, afraid of disturbing her. She looked as calm as he'd ever seen her, he might even venture as far as to say she looked as though she were a sleeping angel.

Claire shifted slightly anyways, her head lolling over to the side. Her eyes were closed, eyelashes against her pale cheeks. Her breathing was calm, relaxed, and slow. Steve loved seeing her this way. Her facial features were so perfect, soft, clean skin, silky hair, and her lips... he loved her lips, his eyes always drifting to them no matter what he did to stop them.

He found himself leaning forward, slowly, eyes focused on her lips. How he wanted to just...

He kissed her, softly and gently at first. He gradually applied a bit of pressure, loving the feel of her lips against his.

Claire's eyes fluttered open, blinking slowly. She slowly broke away from him, frowning the slightest bit.

"S-Steve..."

The boy stood quickly, flushing red instantly. He turned his back to her, shoving his hands in his pockets. "I'm sorry, Claire. I shouldn't have..."

The former S.T.A.R.S member grabbed his arm, fingers curling around his wrist. "No, you say that too often..." She murmured softly.

"But it was wrong of me--" She cut him off, wrapping her fingers around his wrist tighter.

"Don't say that."

"But--"

"Steve, I said don't." She frowned, but pulled lightly on his wrist. "Please, come sit down with me...can't we just relax and take a rest? Just for now?"

The boy hesitated before facing her. He sat beside her, a few inches away, his hands on his lap. Claire leaned against him slowly, feeling the warmth from him now. She liked being this close to another person. She missed the feeling.

Unsurely, slowly and almost hesitantly, Steve wrapped his arms around the smaller girl. He drew her small frame against his chest, watching for her reaction. "How's...this?" He asked after a moment of silence.

Claire pulled her legs to her own chest, nuzzling further against him. She smiled, closing her eyes. "Nice..."
