So, they are still prince and princess, but this is still an AU! I really like Sailor moon, and by that, I mean all of it. The manga, the old series, and Crystal! I hope you all enjoy my story! I know I will enjoy writing it! Sorry if anyone is a little OOC I just started writing fanfiction recently.

Prince Endymion couldn't believe they were dragging him to this stupid ball that he didn't want to go to. What did he care if some foreign princess was going to get married? But, he'd been told to be polite, which, of course, he would, but that didn't mean he would have to enjoy it. He'd only been sent by his parents because they told him that since he would soon be king, he needed to make political allies.

The whole ride over to the castle where the wedding would take place took more than a couple hours, and by the time they got there the sun was going down. He hoped they were going for a night wedding, or weren't waiting on the guests, because then they would be pretty mad right about now. He said this out loud, and his servant, Sume, a blond girl with twin ponytails and tiny wings that were too small to take her anywhere, spoke.

"Actually, Prince Endymion, the wedding will take place tomorrow. We are just going now for the reception."

He sighed. This wasn't even the day of the wedding? How long were they going to make him suffer?

When they finally got to the castle where the foreign princess lived, Endymion was not impressed. His castle was much larger, and this one almost looked in danger of falling apart. He waited as Sume opened his door for him, thanking her as he stepped out. Many other royal guests were arriving, and he exchanged greetings obligatorily. It's not that he was a mean prince, exactly, but he was a busy prince, and he didn't have much time for things like weddings for people he didn't even know.

"Sir, maybe we should head inside?" Sume asked. It had started to rain. He nodded, and was lead inside by his many guards. The party got underway, Endymion hardly paying attention as the guests began to dance and dine. He contented himself with finding a wall to lean against, looking out at the dancing crowd.

Suddenly, a girl stood out from the rest of the crowd. She had silver hair, with twin pony tails like Sume's, only hers trailed much farther, and seemed much silkier and softer. Her eyes were a beautiful blue. Her dress was a simple white gown that trailed like her hair. His eyes were drawn to her instantly, and he was unable to look away. She was surrounded by a few other girls, who he assumed to be her guards, but he paid them mind.

It wasn't just her beauty that drew his attention, it was her smile, a soft, gentle, wise smile directed at those around her. It was the smile of what he could only think of as an angel. He straightened up a little as she walked past, and that small movement drew her attention. She turned and looked at him, and he saw her eyes take him in the same way he had taken in her.

"Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, could I have moment alone with our guest?" she asked the girls around her, who looked at him, trying to decide if he was a threat. Once they'd determined he was safe they moved away. He turned his attention to Sume, who was bowing to the girl, as a servant must do to royalty. Was this girl royal? How did Sume know? Who was she? Endymion suddenly wished he had paid better attention when his school lessons had been learning the potential allies around him.

"Sume, give us a moment, please." he said, and she bowed again, and moved away, still in sight, but out of hearing range. The beautiful silver haired girl smiled again.

"I don't believe we've met before." she said, holding out a hand. He took it, and gently kissed the top.

"I don't believe so either. I would have remembered such a beautiful smile."

She blushed, and seemed pleased that he had commented her smile, and not her looks.

"I am Princess Serenity. Who are you?"

"I am Prince Endymion."

"Of the magic kingdom?"

He nodded. The people in his kingdom were practicers of magic, an art that was slowly dying.

"My kingdom too, dwells in magic." she informed him, and he smiled.

"I am glad my kingdom is not alone, then."

"Shall I show you something?" she offered, and he smiled again.

"I would love to see something, but only if I may return the favor."

Princess Serenity nodded, and held out her hand. A small ball of swirling ice began to form, and he watched, impressed. Ice magic was no easy task to master. In return, he put his hand on the tiny ice ball, and in seconds, it was melted.

"A fire wielder." the princess said. "Impressive."

"I was thinking the same things about you."

They looked into each others eyes, and she said, "Ice and heat do not mix though, do they?"

He shook his head. "On the contrary, I think they need the other. Ice needs the heat to warm it, and heat needs ice to calm it down."

She thought the words over, and nodded. "Perhaps you are right."

Endymion was glad to have impressed her. He wanted her to like him, which was odd. He usually didn't care either way if anyone liked him or not. He gestured with his hand towards a balcony.

"Would you like to step out with me for a moment, Princess? We could get some fresh air."

For the first time, her smile melted away, the same as her ice had, and she looked around the room, like she was afraid someone was watching.

"Are you alright?" he asked, concerned, and she smiled again. But this time, it seemed fake.

"I am. Let us go. For just a minute."

He extended his arm, and she took it, letting him lead her outside. He wondered about her actions. What was she afraid of, and why did they have to hurry back? He didn't question, and just let her stand in silence for a moment, looking up at the moon.

"So, how old are you?" he asked.

"Eighteen. And yourself?"

"I'm nineteen."

"So you will be king soon, won't you?"

In his kingdom, the heir took the thrown once they reached twenty years of age. He was looking forward to it, and at the same time, was not sure he was ready.

"Yes. Wait, do you know which kingdom I come from?" he asked. He hadn't mentioned it, so how did she know his customs?

She smiled. "Prince Endymion, besides my kingdom there is only one other who dwells in magic."

He blushed, feeing foolish. He didn't know that. What country was he in anyway? He hadn't paid any attention to which direction they'd gone, or how long they'd traveled. There were four kingdoms in his vicinity that were only a days ride away. And which kingdom did she hail from?

"Princess, could I trouble you for a dance?" he asked. They could hear the music inside, and he wanted to take advantage of his sudden good mood. Dancing with a smart, pretty, kind girl seemed like a good way to do it.

Like she had when he'd asked her out here, she looked around, but only for a brief moment before she accepted his offer.

"Alright."

They began their dance, looking into each other's eyes, and as he stared at her, Prince Endymion felt something he hadn't for a long time.

Love.

He loved this girl.

But how could that be? They had only just met! And did she feel it too, what he was feeling? He stopped their movements, but kept her hand in his as he asked, "Princess, do you feel...something?" He couldn't think of a way to phrase it.

She stared up at him, and he saw it her eyes. She felt it too. He wanted to lean down and kiss her. But his plans were interrupted by the balcony doors suddenly opening, and a man about his age stepping out. He had blond hair, and was tall, and he looked angry.

"Serenity, what do you think you're doing?" he asked, taking in the two of the, hand in hand.

The princess suddenly looked frightened, and Endymion didn't like that. Had he harmed the princess?

"I am talking with Prince Endymion." she answered simply, and he scoffed, coming over, and grabbing her by the arm.

"You do not need to hold the hand of the prince to talk with the prince."

She looked at the ground, silent, and Endymion felt his anger flare.

"Don't touch her so foully, you beast." he commanded, and the man looked at him, and stood chest to chest with him.

"She is my fiancé, I will touch her however I like!"

The word froze him. The beautiful Serenity had a fiancé? He looked at her, and her eyes met his apologetically. So, maybe the love he felt couldn't go anywhere after all...But non the less, he didn't like the way she was being treated.

"Fiancé or not, who can not treat her that way." He was using his prince voice now, once that scared people, but this man didn't look intimidated.

"Treat her what way? Serenity, have I harmed you?" he asked, turning his attention on the girl. She simply shook her head silently, looking at the ground. The man grinned. "Well then, if you'll excuse us."

And her led her away.

All night Endymion's thoughts swirled. He was hurting her. He knew he was, and he needed to stop it. He would prove he was hurting her, and have him arrested. Then she would be safe. And free to pursue another fiancé...

He sighed, rolling onto his side. This stupid wedding needed to hurry up and be done, so he could deal with what was suddenly really important.

Princess Serenity.

The next day, Endymion sat with all the other guests as they waited for the wedding to begin. He looked among the guests, trying to spot Serenity, but so far, he hadn't seen her. He had seen her guards, but they seemed busy every time he looked.

Sume, who was sitting next to him, asked, "My prince, who are you looking for?"

"That girl I was talking with yesterday. Princess Serenity. I just...wanted to know if she wanted to sit with me."

Sume's eyes widened, and she looked upset.

"My prince..." she said. "Did you not know?"

Her words concerned him, and he turned toward her. "Know what?"

She gulped. "Princess Serenity...this is..."

But before his servant could continue, beautiful music started to play.

The wedding was starting. He sighed and leaned back, willing it to hurry along. The sooner the happy couple wedded, the better. The guests stood and bowed as the couple entered the room, arms linked. As he stood back up from his bow, the bride passed by him at just that moment. Her face was hidden by her veil, but his eyes widened as he recognized her. He gasped, mouth dropping as they reached the end of their walk, and her veil was pulled back to reveal her face.

"Serenity." he gasped, and Sume looked at him sympathetically. Clearly, her prince had no clue where they were, or who was getting married, or really what was going on at any given time. Endymion's eyes went to the groom next as the guests took their seats.

It was that man, the one who had been rough with Serenity.

He growled in his throat as the holy man began to speak.

"Today, two countries will be brought together. The union will be formed by Prince Hollywar, and Princess Serenity."

As the holy man continued, Serenity's eyes flickered briefly to him. Her eyes were pleading. She didn't want this. She wanted him, the same way he wanted her, despite the fact that they had only just met.

"Stop!" he shouted, standing up. Everyone gasped. "That man does not deserve the princess!"

Everyone started murmuring, and Serenity gasped, "Endymion!"

Prince Hollywar smirked. "And what are you going to do about it? The princess needs this, anyway. Her country is poor, and falling to ruins." Endymion recalled his opinion of the castle, small and crumbling. "I will bring them the power and riches they want again."

"Is that why the princess allows you to beat her?"

Gasps filled the room, and now, Prince Hollywar wasn't smiling.

"That's quite an accusation."

Prince Endymion drew his sword. "I challenge you to a duel. If I win, you will call of this wedding."

Prince Hollywar considered. "And if I win?"

Prince Endymion couldn't think of anything to give. "What would you want?"

Prince Hollywar smirked. "You will become my personal servant."

More gasps. A prince becoming the servant of another prince? It was unheard of.

"I accept." Endymion said, and Sume gasped, "My prince, no!"

The two princes approached each other, and one of Prince Hollywar's men handed him a sword. Princess Serenity looked at him with worried eyes, and followed them with the other guests out into the open courtyard.

"The fight is one when one man can no longer continue fighting." Endymion said, and his opponent nodded. "Fine. Now cut the chatter. Let's fight."

A second after his sentence finished, he launched himself at Endymion, who raised his sword to deflect the blow. He was pushed back a couple feet, but was unharmed. He swung back, and managed to knick his opponent, who jumped back just in time to avoid a serious injury.

They battled, swords clashing, and the fight dragged on. Endymion started to grow tired, and Hollywar smirked, seeing this. He swung his sword, and Endymion was too slow to deflect again as it hit him in the side of the head, sending him flying.

"Endymion!" he heard Serenity scream as he crashed into the building, falling to the ground in a heap.

"Prince Endymion!" Sume called, and he could hear the tears she must be crying.

He tried to stand up, but he was too hurt. If he had been a regular human, he would have died, but his healing magic was acting fast. But not fast enough, and he crashed into the building again as Hollywar kicked him in the stomach.

"Be grateful I kept you alive." he hissed at Endymion. "I could have killed you, but I'm low on servants. Mine keep..." he trailed off, and smirked. "Well, terrible accidents keep getting them sent to the hospital."

Even though he was dizzy, and there was blood gushing from his head wound, into his eyes, Endymion's anger flared, as he pictured Serenity hurt, like those poor servants. He swung his sword with all his might, and Hollywar raised his sword to meet his. But Endymion had put all his power into his swing, and Hollywar was launched back, the same way Endymion had been, hitting the castle wall with a horrible smack.

Endymion had survived that because he was magical. He was not so sure how the regular human would take the injury. He didn't much care. He slumped to one knee as the guests checked on Hollywar, declaring him alive, but unable to continue. Hollwar argued, and tried to stand, but his legs gave out.

He growled, and looked at Endymion with burning eyes. "Fine. Take her."

Serenity came running out of the crowd, and jumped into his arms, uncaring of his bloody clothes.

"Endymion, why would you do that? You barely know me!"

He smiled, and kissed her hand as she wiped the blood off him with her wedding dress.

"But I know I love you."

She gasped, and smiled back, tears in her eyes.

"I love you too."

She clutched onto him, and he pulled her into a kiss, in front of all her guests. "Serenity, would you marry me?" he asked when they finally pulled away. She wiped a tear from her eye.

"I will, Endymion."

As they kissed again, Prince Endymion decided he should probably thank his parents for forcing him to come to this wedding.

I hope you guys liked it! Let me know what you think!

Sume is an OC of mine. I think it would be cool if I could incorporate her into all my stories, somehow.
