The Note, a torchwood fanfic

"What"
"What do I mean to you"
"You know what you mean to me, Ianto"
"Thats the thing though... I dont"
Jack pulled Ianto into a kiss, holding him tenderly. Ianto mumbled something against Jacks lips, his eyes closed.
"What"
"I love you." Ianto whispered.
Jack held Ianto to his chest. "I can't"
Ianto looked up at Jack, frowning slightly, "What"
"Its too hard... If I say it, it makes it true"
Ianto waited, gazing up into Jacks eyes.
"I- I l-love you too"

As Jack was switching the monitors off in the hub that night, he found the note on his favourite mug.

"Jack,

I know how hard it was for you to say it...

So I'll say it for us both.

I loved you when I met you.

I love you now.

I'll love you until my heart stops beating.

Jack smiled to himself "I'll love you forever, Ianto Jones."
