"Change it!" Naya demands, as she stands sternly with her hands on her hips.
"What are you talking about?" Ryan asks, as he quirks an eyebrow.
"The finale. It has to be changed!"
Ryan puts his head in his hands and sighs. "Naya.. This is happening. I'm not changing it. I need to get my audience back. I screwed up and and I need viewers back. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna change it."
Naya throws the script on the desk. "Then I quit this fucking job!" She turns on her heel and marches out the office, ignoring Ryan as he bellows her name. Her eyes are filling up and she sets her jaw to hold in her emotions. She doesn't even notice when she storms past Heather.
"Hey you!" Heather smiles sweetly, as Naya walks past. But Naya doesn't stop. Heather frowns and chases after her. "Hey.. Naya, stop!" Heather grabs her arms and spins her on the spot.
Her face is tear stricken and her eyes bloodshot. "H-He won't cha-change it."
"Change what?"
"The F-finale."
Heather furrows her brow in confusion. "The reunion?"
Naya nods her head slowly and looks to the floor.
"This isn't about the show is it?"
Naya shrugs herself free from Heather's grasp and stalks off back to her trailer, where she slumps down on the couch. She pulls her phone out to check for any missed calls or texts to reveal nothing.
A sudden knock on her trailer door, makes her jump. "I told you I fucking quit, Ryan, get lost!"
The handle is turned and Heather walks through the door. "You.. You quit? Nay' what's going on. Talk to me."
Naya shakes her head. Heather is the last person she wants to talk to right now.
Heather pulls a chair from a small table next to the couch and sits down, close enough but not too close.
"This is about my pregnancy isn't it?" Heather asks as she folds her arms, sitting back on the seat.
Naya whips her head around quickly. "Facebook, Heather.. I found out through god damn Facebook that my best friend is pregnant? She didn't even have the decency to tell me herself?" She shook her head and looked away. "I didn't realise you were that gutless Heather Morris."
Heather sighed and pursed her lips. "Do you even have one tiny idea how hard it was going to be to tell you I'm having a baby? Do you? How this is it for us? No, you don't! Because like always, Naya, you were too busy is your own self pity land to see that! And now you selfishly want to change a script that's already been writing a million times, to accommodate everything already, because you, Miss self importance, can't deal with life's realities."
Naya sits quietly, drowning in Heather's words. Each one hitting her like a dagger in her heart.
"We have a fanbase Naya, you tell everyone on a daily basis how great your fans are, about how amazingly supportive they are, they're counting on this reunion. You and I both know that and we'll give it a hundred and ten percent, like we always do, because they deserve it. At least let Brittany and Santana have a happy ending, even if we don't get ours."
An envelope is pushed under the door and they both turn their heads to see what it is.
Heather gets up slowly and picks it up. A green post it stuck on the front. 'FINAL REVISIONS NO MORE CHANGES, RM'. She opens up the manilla envelop, pulling out 2 sheets of flimsy paper. She reads through the new scenes and shakes her head. She stuffs the papers back in the envelope and storms over to Naya, throwing them it onto her lap.
"Looks like you got what you wanted. I hope you're happy."
Naya swallows the lump in her throat and watches Heather leave. She too, takes the paper out of the envelope and reads it. A final goodbye. This is what she needed to move on.
