Armin's POV :.
Unbearable pain shot up my body, I looked down at my blood stained shirt. I looked up to see big green eyes staring at me and glossed over with tears. It's so cold. Everything is crumbling, everything is falling on me and I can't move. I'm frozen, paralyzed with fear. I try to find those green eyes again. But then I hear a scream, it irks me to my core. But suddenly the screaming comes to an abrupt stop. I hear an empty growl behind me, "P-please! " I cry out. Suddenly a hand comes out and starts shaking me, "Armin, wake up! " bright light floods my vision. Eren's above me with a concerned look on his face.
"You're safe Arm!" he says. I'm sobbing into his shoulder. "When did we become like this? Living like livestock while our own families," Eren's voice cuts off at the opening of the creaky door our room has. "Eren, Armin, come quickly it's Marco and Jean! They're back from the supply raid and... Well Jean doesn't look so good"
at the base camp entrance
Jean's crying, his face covered in blood and grime. Just by looking at him we could tell what had happened. Marco was gone. What was left of him... Everything he once was. The strong freckled friend we all knew was on the ground. "The supplies would last us a week at most." Levi said closing Marco's remaining eye and covering him with his jacket. He walked away with the supplies to the nearest food storage. Jean looked down at the revolver in his hand, then at Marco's body. His eyes empty and face devoid of any emotions. "Marco I'm sorry" he whispered before putting the gun to his head and pulling the trigger.
The gunshot rung in my ears. Eren was shaking his head sadly, face grim.
Eren's POV:
I shook my head. Jean you bastard, first Marco now you? I looked over at Armin, he was shaking and choked sobs left his mouth. " Don't look." I said, he turned around and faced the barbed fence separating us from the monsters. Jean's body was cold all life was gone. I called over the patrol guards and they helped me haul the bodies to the fire pit. We burned the bodies as well as several nameless others. Armin slowly walked over to our small house ( that we claimed when we first found this safe zone) and silently went inside. I've been worried about him lately. He hasn't been eating enough and he has constant nightmares. He keeps saying that he's weak and useless, but if he hadn't showed us his plans to keep the dead out they would have gotten us months ago.
