Prompt: Silence
It went without saying that Danny liked to talk because, as he liked to say, Italian here. He liked to talk, he liked to gesture, and he liked to be emphatic about both things.
Lindsay liked to talk too, perhaps not as loudly or as much as Danny, but she held her own. She'd always been the chatty one in her group of lost friends, and it continued, as she got older. She could spend hours discussing random facts with Hawkes or arguing over computer programs with Adam.
Obviously, Danny and Lindsay together was going to include a lot of talking. Forget normal conversation, which was nothing compared to arguments, wagers gone wrong, heated debates and, of course, the flirting that ended in bug eating and Batmobile play.
Still, there was one thing they shared, one thing that always silenced the chatter and that was their love of the opera. Danny had always loved it, having listened to his mother's tapes his entire life. He connected it so completely to being a kid, to standing at her knee and watching her cook, or bugging her for money so he could get ice cream with his brother. It was a reminder of a time when everything was sweet and simple.
Lindsay's love of opera hadn't come until she was in college and one of her boyfriends brought her to see a performance of iLa Boheme/i with the company that was traveling around the country. They were amazing, the whole thing was just amazing, and by the end, she'd been a complete mess of emotions. The boyfriend she ditched a week later, but the opera stuck.
Now, they listened to it together. Sometimes Danny would put it on when he cooked, relaxing them after a long day. Other times it was saved for Sunday afternoons after dinner with his mother. He'd lay back on the couch and gather her body against his and they'd drift happily as they listened.
It was yet another thing that connected them, another thing they shared, their love coming through even in the silence.
