Prompt: Talk
Every couple has it at some point, at least if they're smart they do. The "What exactly is our protection situation" talk.
With the few long term relationships he'd had the talk always went the same way. Condom, every single time. There was no doubt about it. He wasn't a moron and he wasn't going to risk getting something or getting a woman pregnant with a child that neither of them was prepared for. He might have played the carefree bachelor, but there were something's you should never be carefree about.
So, the first time he slept with Lindsay he was well prepared with a condom, well to be technically they'd used 4….or 5.
Then he'd gotten hurt and that had but a definite damper on their sex lives for a few weeks.
By the time he was strong enough, well at least according to Lindsay, who was way to worried about hurting him they had had the talk.
Both of them were clean and Lindsay was on the pill and so she became the first woman he'd ever had sex with condomless.
It really was amazing, and even though he didn't condone casual and unsafe sex, he suddenly knew what the guys had been going on about forever. It was…beyond words. Sliding into her, nothing between them, coming inside her, really inside her….just thinking about it made him so hard he ached.
He was very glad they'd had the sex talk and very glad she was on the pill. Their first six months together was probably the happiest of his life.
Then he'd fucked up. Not once, not twice but many goddamn fucking times. He lost her trust, he almost lost her, and suddenly everything had changed.
The first time they'd had sex after he cheated on her they were at her place and he'd been surprised and confused when she'd reached into her end table and grabbed a condom. As she held it out to him, he tried to figure out why they were there. Had she been with someone else? Had she gone off the pill while they were apart?
Then it dawned on him, well more like slammed into him. She didn't trust him anymore. Part of her still wondered if he would cheat again and so she was protecting herself. He'd made love to her that night knowing he'd lost her trust and that he'd have to earn it again. He would earn it again, no matter how long it took.
It was hard, the road back from what he did, but he didn't give up. He needed Lindsay in his life like he needed the air. He couldn't lose her again, wouldn't lose her again.
There was no talk the second time around, just a moment, months later, that Danny reached over for a condom, and Lindsay stopped him.
And he knew he was forgiven.
