The Trials of Being an Only Drummer Girl
Yay! My first story (sort of). I only own my memories. Nothing else.
1.Receiving more proof for the statement, "All men are pigs."
2.Sexist jokes and comments
3.Not thinking anything is wrong with changing on a trailer with 10 other guys.
4.Getting weird looks if you wear any type of clothing that shows you have curves to practice.
5.Thinking how unfair it is that you can't room with the rest of the drummers.
6.Going to PASIC and having to take along another girl from a different section for propriety's sake.
7.When you joke with the guy next to you and he punches you in the chest, then turns around and yells, "Oh my God, you're a girl!"
8.Same guy does that about three more times in the season and uses the excuse, "Well if that area wasn't so big, I'd aim somewhere else!"
9.Having to get a band mom to stay for the sectional all night practices, also for propriety's sake.
10. Being referred to as a guy whenever the section is addressed.
11. Non-band kids looking at you funny if they see you at practice.
12. Same kids talk about how you only hang out with boys.
13. Thinking that new show on TBS (My Boys) is awesome.
14. Having to be a mother to the section.
15. Underclassmen revolting when you're named section leader or assistant section leader.
16. Not thinking anything about bag-tagging a boy.
17. Really wanting a shirt that says, "I'm the drummer your colorguard captain warned you about."
18. Parents don't think anything about you hanging out with guys all the time.
19. Getting strange looks playing second bass when the first bass guy is 3 times your size.
20. Shorter breaks because it doesn't take the guys as long to pee.
21. Eventually coming to think of them as girls because they're the only ones around when you want to talk about hot boys or plot for world domination when you're PMSing.
22. No longer taking offense to their sexist comments.
23. Having to turn your back to them during jumping jacks.
24. Limits your dating choices in the band because you know them too well.
25. They never have any Midol.
26. Changing your mind from wanting to have girl children to having boy children.
27. Mom complains I'm not feminine enough.
28.Lose some girl friends sometimes because you take your boys' sides during fights and/or break-ups.
29.Guys Rules for their girl friends just make me laugh, and sometimes agree.
30.Chuck Norris is my new role model.
