PROLOGUE
Lightning lit up his face as he stood there on the hilltop in his white gown, held together by a length of rope. Staring at the speeding train below, packed full with researchers, he spread his arms wide and sang a melody like a choirboy. The sky erupted with thunder as a swarm of leech like creatures pelted the train.
Storm's getting worse. George Jenkins thought to himself as he glanced out of the window while readjusting his red and white umbrella shaped pin badge before looking back at the documents he held. Thump
Something small smacked into the window followed by hundreds more, each revealing a sharp set of teeth. Jesus! The lights flickered off,around him the sound of screaming, he got up to run but several of the things fell from the roof onto him, one managed to climb up to his face and bite into his cheek. He pulled at it and chucked it to the floor just as another two replaced the first, he fell to the floor covered in the leech creatures.
Stood on the hilltop he watched the carnage unfold, men and women struggling to stay alive, pounding at the windows in desperation. One researcher was attempting to jump from the barely moving vehicle, with a sweep of his arm he pointed at the escapee and leeches assailed the jumper.
The researcher struggled with the leeches that fed on his body, pulling at them as they crawled up to his face. Weak from blood loss he weakly slapped at the ravenous leeches, as they continued to feed on him the man could only think one thing, we're all gonna die...
