"No!" David yelled, thrashing about. The man on top of him smiled eerily but his hands unbuttoned the first few buttons on David's shirt. "Stop, get off!"
"Shut up," the man growled, suddenly an alcohol taste filled David's mouth and he was crying; now begging the man to stop. Instead, he received punches and was pushed further into the ground as the man fumbled with his belt. David let out a scream but felt himself being shaken.
"Dave," a familiar voice called, "Davey, wake up. It's me, c'mon, you're alright." David opened his eyes and pushed away from the figure standing above him. "Dave-."
"No," David shook his head.
"Dave, nothing's gonna happen," the figure soothed, "You're safe now. It was only a nightmare." He touched David's hand, seeming to relax the scared boy slightly. "C'mon Davey." David crawled into the open arms and cried into the shoulder of his protector. He kissed David's head, affectionately, whispering soothing words. "I'll never leave you Dave, okay? Always be here. Always protect you." The boy nodded sleepily, looking into the speaker's eyes. "I love you too much David."
"I love you too Jack."
