This is just a slightly odd one-shot. It just came over me at school. I also wrote the same thing in German, but I still have to type it.

Disclaimer: Draco and Hermione belong to JKR, I wouldn't mind owning Draco though.

Trust

People don't change, do they? People don't change just for fun. There are some people that do change though, for better or worse.

But can people change completely without an apparent reason. Maybe he didn't change after all. I am confused.

Maybe I should explain myself. There is this boy, guy, no man who surprised me quite a bit. He always was the daddy's boy who was sure to follow him and become a Deatheater. But no. Yesterday he actually came to me and asked for help. He, the proud Slytherin-Prince, came to me a Muggel-born Gryffindor.

I, naturally, asked what he wanted. He answered that he needed my help in Transfigurations, oh, and by the way he wanted to get rid of his father.

That hit me of guard. Who would have guessed that Draco Malfoy would get an opinion and switch sides. I hope you understand my reaction, because I didn't believe him. Why would I? I had no reason whatsoever to believe Draco's sudden change of heart. So I kicked him out, not literally, of our common room. Heads share a common room.

Now that happened yesterday. Today I think I am willing to believe him, but it's too late, because now Draco's lying on the floor of our common room, dieing. Attacked by his very own father. I was too late.

I was too late at understanding that sometimes people do change.
