Castle woke when his warm arm made contact with the cold side of the bed where Kate should have been sleeping peacefully. He pulled himself upright before he looked at the clock beside him which flashed 03:00 at him.

He slowly rose from the bed and wrapped his body in his navy bathrobe as he left his room and went in search of Kate. He got to the top of the stairs before he noticed that living room lights were on. He quickly descended down the stairs as he reached the bottom of the stairs he could vaguely hear the hum of the traffic that bustled beneath his apartment.

The balcony doors were open, as he walked closer to the balcony and Kate he could feel the warm July air that entered the open doors and he could Kate's angelic singing voice softly singing smile the song that Vega sang in My Girl 2 to their 3 day old daughter Evalina Jade Castle. There was something that Kate had not told him and that was where the beautiful name that had been bestowed upon his youngest daughter, he nearly cried when Kate's father walked into the hospital room and she held up Evalina slightly and said "Dad, meet Evalina Jade Castle." In fact her dad did cry and whispered something in her ear.

Kate turned her head slightly as if she had heard the cogs in his imaginative mind turning.

"Hey" She whispered "Eva woke up and I was telling her about her grandma."

He walked closer and placed a soft kiss on Kate's head before he lightly ran a finger over Evalina's soft downy feather like hair.

"If you don't mind me asking. Will you please tell me what your dad cried about when you introduced Eva to him?" He asked as he placed a large arm around Kate's small shoulders.

"Right before my mom was killed her and my dad had been trying for another baby. My mom had said to me that if she had a girl she'd call her Evalina Jade and after she died I told my dad my first daughter I'd call Evalina Jade, I don't think he believed me until I had Eva."

Castle looked down at Eva and noticed that she was currently fast asleep, he took his slumbering daughter off of her mother carefully "I'll take this one to bed and you can stay down here for 10 minutes then I'm dragging you upstairs to bed. Ok?"

Kate nodded before she diverted her attention back to the streets beneath her that were already lit up with bright lights that swiftly moved along the roads. She smiled as thoughts of her mother flittered through her mind.

But something spooked her a little. She could have sworn she smelt her mother's perfume on the wind before she felt a kiss placed on her forehead, a person wrap their arm around her and then whisper "Thank you. You'll be fine" In her ear.

Instantly she knew who it was.

"Thanks mom." She whispered as a lone tear slipped from her eye while a smile formed on her face.

Hey there my lovelies, I don't think this is very good so please drop a review and tell me what if you liked, if you didn't and how I could have improved it. Much appreciated.
