Confession
Perhaps this gift is not much
Yet it really is from my sincere heart
Perhaps I couldn't say much
Yet I hope my silence is alright
Perhaps I could not stop your pain
Yet I hope my company could lessen it somewhat
Perhaps I might seem cold and indifferent
Yet I hope you could perceive my warmth within
Perhaps I couldn't do much for you
But I still would try
Perhaps you couldn't banish my pain and sorrow
Yet around you I could allow my dam to break
Perhaps you fear I might say goodbye
Yet did you know your farewell silently I dread?
Perhaps this poem isn't good enough for you
Yet please that I had tried my very best
