SNOWFLAKES
I can't help but to think of you
Everyday you fill my mind
24/7 every hour every minute
Your vision sends me blind
And I hope that one day
I'll be by your side
And someone you can always call
I'll be the one to catch you, to take the fall.

Akane idly fingered the threads from her curtain as she sat at her desk. She rested her head against her hand and sighed.
"The piles of homework never get done and all I can think of is how I want to run away with you..." She glanced at the sheet in front of her. Three months and nothing had changed, Ranma was tiptoing on glass and the fiancee's never went away. Dammit! Why couldn't he just choose? She couldn't work like this.
Standing up she pushed her chair away from her desk and walked outside.
Downstairs, Kasumi was enjoying a cup of tea.
"Hello Akane...Ranma is in the yard." Akane nodded and kept walking.
"Cold day, isn't it Akane?" Her father asked pleasantly. She smiled and kept walking.
"Yo, Akane! Where are ya going?" She turned to look at Ranma who was jogging beside her. Saying nothing, she kept walking.
"Akane?"
"Yo, Tomboy!" He started getting worried.
"Leave me alone, Ranma. Be quiet and come or just leave me alone." She kept walking, forcing Ranma out of her vision.
Unsurprisingly, Ranma was soon beside her.
"Eh....it's a nice day, I decided to come for a walk." She turned to hide a smile from him.
"That's nice, Ranma."
They walked in silence until they came to the park. It had slowly gotten colder and she was shivering. Ranma only just noticed.
"Are you cold?" Akane gave him a LOOK.
"What do you think, baka?"
"Here, wear my jacket." Akane wrinkled her nose. It smelt of sweat and...well, Ranma-ness. But she took it anyway. Ranma sighed, leaving little clouds in the cold air.
"You know Akane, sometimes I wish you weren't so stubborn." Akane was silent, but the light in her eyes began to return.
"I mean...not that I like you or anything...but...well..." He trailed off, unsure of what to say.
A small hand found his.
"I know what you mean Ranma, I know what you mean...." Her cheeks were rosy from the cold and her eyes shone with light.
Ranma couldn't stop thinking about the tiny delicate hand cradled in his. It was hard to picture it breaking bricks so easily...it was so small and uncalloused. Especially compared to his big, clumsy hands.
"Come play in the snow with me, Ranma!"
"It's a bit cold Akane..."
"Wuss!"
"Hey! No one calls Ranma Saotome a wuss! But if I get frostbite..."
"I'll take care of you." The ice was finally broken as Akane looked at him shyly from beneath her lashes. He squeezed her hand ever so gently, and smiled.

"Will you always take care of me, Acchan?"
"Yes!"
"Forever and ever?"
"Forever and ever." The little pig-tailed boy leant over and kissed the little girl on the cheek, who stuck her tongue out. A snowflake fell on the little boy's nose, which the little girl licked off. The two giggled into the night.

Ranma woke up by a warm fireplace in a hot blanket.
"Wha-what happened?" A haze in front of him formed into Akane's features.
"A...Acchan?" A tinge of red appeared on the apparition.
"Yes Ranma?"
"What happened?"
"I hit you too hard with a snowball..." The face became bright red.
"Okay Acchan."
"Okay."
"I'm going to have a lie down now."
"Okay." And he faded back into unconciousness, only barely taking notice of the delicate hands tucking the blankets in around him...or the soft kiss on the cheek, the caress of her hand as she brushed his hair away from his face.
Love you Acchan...
