The kiss is perfect, long, and slow, with Beckett's arms wrapped around Castle's shoulders and Castle's resting gently on Beckett's lower back. Both of them have their eyes closed for effect.
"Okay, I'm done," says Lanie as she steps out of the corner and turns off the video function on her iPhone. "And a deal's a deal." As Beckett steps away from Castle, she accepts Lanie's manila folder containing the latest autopsy results and chastises Castle for getting a little too tongue-y.
Two hours later, Lanie presents her "covertly recorded" footage to Karpowski and wins $300 in the precinct pool.
