"Waldorf?"

The voice was strange, familiar. And the one voice she did not want to hear right now

She turned around

"What are you doing here Humphrey?" she asked curtly

They were standing on the balcony of Blair's temporary room of The Empire, bottle of scotch in her hand and one foot on the railing

"Serena sent me to look for you. I just didn't expect to find….this" he replied, and took a small step forwards

"Find what?"

Dan shook his head. "Are you really gonna commit suicide Blair?"

Blair frowned "Yes. Are you really gonna try & stop me?"

Dan took a few more steps forward "Blair, you can't do this?'

"Don't tell me what to do!" she snapped angrily

"What is this, Titanic?"

Blair sighed "Whatever Humphrey. I'm going to jump"

"Can you at least tell me why?" Dan asked

"Because" she began "Because, I'm worthless. My own mother hates me, Chuck left me, I didn't end up going to Yale & I'm nothing compared to Serena 'I'm so fucking perfect' van der Woodsen. I might as well not be alive & do everyone a favor. They don't even care about me"

She sat down on the stone cold ground and began to cry

Dan walked over to her "I care"

She looked up "No you don't. You're just saying that so it doesn't look like you just let me jump"

He sat down next to her "No, I'm not"

Blair turned to face him "Why would you care? What have I ever done for you?"

"Without you, I would of never met Serena van der Woodsen" he began

"Wait" Blair cut him off before he could so anymore "How did I help you with that?"

Dan smiled "If there wasn't any Blair Waldorf, Serena would have most likely never left, therefore we would never have met because she would have never had a Best Friend being a complete bitch to her"

Blair smirked "Is that all?"

Dan shook his head "No, there's way more reasons. But, there's not going to be anymore if you end your life"

Blair looked down at the ground "I dunno. I just don't think anything's ever going to go right"

"Well of course it won't, but that's life. And there are other options then suicide Blair"

"Like what? Killing Chuck?"

Dan laughed "No. But, that's not a bad idea"

This time it was Blair who laughed

They were silent for a moment

"Dan, have you ever broken up with someone and it felt like your life was falling apart?" Blair asked

"Yeah" Dan replied "I guess so"

"Well that's how it feels with Chuck"

"There are other ways to get back at him, you know"

"Like what?" she asked

"Like this"

He pushed a hair out of her face and kissed her

Blair kissed him back

They pulled apart and the two looked at each other

"I'm still gonna jump" Blair said, standing up

She walked over to the railing and climbed up

"Blair" Dan said

She was silent

"You really cannot jump"

She looked at him "And why is that?"

"Because I love you. I always have. I always thought you were beautiful, even if you were a complete bitch. And I don't think the world is going to be better off without Blair Waldorf"

He walked over to her, and helped her off the railing, then carried her, wedding style, to the door

"Do you really love me?" Blair whispered

Dan nodded, and she pushed her lips against his

"Besides" he said when they broke apart "Don't you want to see Chuck's face?"
