Summary: Hook seeks to destroy Mr. Gold and Neal's relationship and tells him the truth about Milah.
Neal was sitting on a stool in his father's shop watching his father polish another sword. He was very careful with his hands making sure he didn't nip himself. "Papa, whatever happened to Mom? You always told me she died. How did she die?"
"Come now son, that was in the past, let us move on," urged Mr. Gold as he put away the sword.
"You never want to talk about it and I was always left wondering what happened to her."
"She was killed by a pirate and that's all I am going to tell you."
"Is that really what you are going to tell your son?" came the smooth voice of Captain Hook.
Neal went in front of his father to protect him as Captain Hook smirked, "You won't be doing that after I tell you the truth about your mother."
"What is he saying?" Neal demanded of Mr. Gold.
Mr. Gold looked furious and angry. "Yes, what exactly am I saying?" sneered Hook.
"Get out," Mr. Gold demanded.
"You don't get to tell me what to do crocodile, especially the fact that you ripped out Milah's heart and crushed it."
Neal felt his heart sink into his chest. "You lied to me."
"Bae, please she ran off to be with this pirate. She abandoned us."
"You lied to me!" yelled Neal again, "Why did you do that?"
"I was angry and hurt that she ran off with this pirate," spat Mr. Gold as he glared at Captain Hook, "I loved your mother, but she never loved me. She abandoned us Bae. I had to raise you all on my own."
"Yet you pushed me away," Neal was livid.
"I told your father your mother had died so that she and I could live in peace and away from him. He was a monster and a weak coward. She wanted a more exciting life I could give her," Hook pushed further, "When your father challenged me into a duel, he was about to rip out my heart when your mother showed up and begged for mercy."
"Is this true?" demanded Neal looking at his father.
"Yes," Mr. Gold yelled as he lunged at Captain Hook with his cane.
"STOP IT!" yelled Neal as he grabbed his father's cane.
Captain Hook was smirking. "We had made a deal, your father was to leave us alone and in exchange she would show him the bean that would reunite you both," continued Captain Hook, "However we tried to trick him, but when we did that's when he went after your mother. And then me."
Hook raised his hook and said, "Your father ripped out Milah's heart. And crushed in in front of me. And now I am crushing what little you may have of your father son relationship."
Hook stormed out of the building leaving a speechless Neal with Mr. Gold. "Why didn't you just tell me the truth?" cried Neal.
"Because you wouldn't understand."
"You are right, I don't understand, and even if you did explain it, I still wouldn't have anyway. When you are ready to be a father let me know."
Neal stormed out of the room.
