Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Harvest Moon games, or any of the characters. But I do own the name of the main character in this fanfic. I will take constructive criticism but please, no flaming it's just not nice.
My Side of the Moon

A fourteen-year-old walked into a field of weeds and pieces of lumber. He sighed just seeing how badly his grandfather's farm was. He had inherited this place soon after he had died. As he walked towards the middle of the debris a small, portly fellow made his way towards the soon to be farmer and greeted him kindly.
"Hello! I'm Mayor Thomas, of Mineral Village. And you must be Koujii. Pleased to meet you!"
"This place has fallen apart since the last time I was here," he said as he gazed once more across the field. Memories came flowing back to him. A girl...Chasing chickens...It was one of the best summers of his childhood. He remembered the promise he had made to the young lady. It had told her that when he was older he would come back.
"I trust you remember your grandfather well. He was a great man. Now the village, as a whole decided to grade you on your performance, and how well off this farm is after three years. If you do not meet the requirements of your peers then you will be asked to leave." Thomas looked a bit sad on that note but smiled again.
"Would you like a tour of the town?"
"Yes Mayor! I'd like to see what has changed."
Koujii and the Mayor walked into the village with Thomas as his own tourguide. The teenager was shown where to buy seeds, bread, and other supplies. He even was shown the local Tavern, which in these parts he could actually drink! Soon it was time for him to return to his farm, and get some shut-eye he would need it for the days ahead.
"Goodnight Kasei," he muttered to his young puppy. Returning into the small one room house he took of his hat, shirt and bandanna and crawled into bed. Setting his clock to 6:00 AM he drifted silently off to sleep.
Afterthoughts: This was only the beginning. I can tell you it will get a bit more exciting. After all the first day isn't the one of the greatest. It's what comes afterwards. Soon review if you think it's worth the time and tell me what you think about it.
