For the first time in her life Cordelia was speechless. Staring at the gift in her hands she felt tears begin to sting the corners of her eyes.
She'd made a flippant comment about wanting to be able to at least look like she could protect herself when out with the gang. She hadn't expected anyone to take notice, especially not Buffy. Yet here she was, offering her a way to help out against the vampires of Sunnydale.
Throwing her arms around the slayer she let the tears fall freely. With her new pink stake she could finally fit in.
